To celebrate the late Virgil Abloh’s "Figures of Speech" exhibition, Off-White and Nike have revealed a new Air Force 1 Low colourway titled "Brooklyn" after the Brooklyn museum where to creative showcase is being held.
The exhibition features collaborations with architect Rem Koolhaas, contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, and the musician formerly known as Kanye West, plus work from both Off-White and Louis Vuitton as a nod to Abloh’s multifaceted approach to fashion.
The "Brooklyn" Air Force 1s, in particular, aim to communicate Abloh’s creative gift and iconic style, yet keep several design details from some of the best Air Force 1s in place to avoid straying too far from the fan favourite silhouette.
The result looks to be an incredibly unique but classic Air Force 1 design that's bound to turn heads when on your feet. With that in mind, here's everything we know about the release of the "Brooklyn" Air Force 1s so far...
Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low Brooklyn Release Date
Despite rumours the shoes were launching for friends and family only, the Nike SNKRS listing confirms that the "Brooklyn" colourway has been made available to the general public as of 13 September 2022.
However, you may have already had the chance to get your hands on pair if you're based in New York with the shoes previously launching regionally via the SNKRS Pass.
Either way, the sneakers are out now if you're interested in a pair. We'd recommend acting fast though as there's a chance the shoes could sell out fast given the immense popularity of the two collaborating brands.
Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low Brooklyn Design
Before Nike confirmed their release, the "Brooklyn" Air Force 1s were previously referred to as the “Light Green Spark” colourway and it's easy to see why.
The shoes come dressed almost entirely in bright green, with the main contrasting tone being the metallic silver featured on the side panel Swooshes.
You'll also find exposed foam around the collars and tongues in reference to Abloh’s signature style, plus circular cutouts to further give the impression of the sneakers being unfinished.
Additional Off-White details include the usual "Air" branding on the midsoles and a nod to Nike's Beaverton headquarters with the "Off-White for NIKE" text presented on the medial sides.
Further Off-White branding can be found in black on the insoles, and the usual zip-tie hangtag comes attached to the left sneaker in matching green to round off the collaborative design in typical Off-White fashion.
Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low Brooklyn Price
Like the release date, Nike's SNKRS listing has confirmed that the "Brooklyn" Air Force 1s cost $160 in adult sizing.
It doesn't look as though Nike will be dropping smaller and subsequently cheaper kids sizes just yet, although this may change at a later date. Stay tuned for further information on this right here.
Where To Buy The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low Brooklyn
The "Brooklyn" Air Force 1s are listed on the Nike SNKRS launch page right now in adult sizes. As we've mentioned though, you'll likely have to act fast to pick up the "Brooklyn" sneakers before they sell out.
That said, if you don't manage to secure a pair through Nike, then we'd suggest checking out the resale market at StockX or GOAT as alternative ways to buy.
