Just a year on from the debut of the Greater Than series, Nike has already revealed the next iteration in the form of the Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 for the 2022/23 NBA season.

Arriving in two contrasting colourways, the sneakers are designed for the world's quickest players, so it may come as no surprise NBA 2K23 cover star Devin Booker and top women's basketballer Sabrina Ionescu are at the forefront of the campaign.

To upgrade on the originals, Nike turned to its Sport Research Lab to discover new insights into the game and to identify subtle areas where they could improve their design.

But how exactly will these new Nike sneakers compare to some of the best basketball shoes around right now? Well, by the look of some of the included technology, we'd argue pretty well - here's everything we know about the Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 so far...

Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 Release Date

Nike originally revealed via its press release two release dates for the G.T. Cut 2.

The "Bred" colourway was originally the first to debut, but the launch date was been pushed back from 20 September (16 September for Nike Members) to some time in October.

The "Sabrina Ionescu" colourway was then due to launch on 13 October 2022 via the Nike store and app, just under a month after the last game of the WNBA Finals.

We now know that both colourways are out now and can be found at the Nike store if you're interested in picking up a pair. However, if you're still undecided, then perhaps a closer look at the design might help you make your decision.

Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 Design

As mentioned, two Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2s have debuted, the first being this "Bred" design named after one of the best Jordan 1 colourways of all time.

Like the OG Jordans, these sneakers come dressed in a combination of black, white, and bright red tones, with hits of light grey featuring in the midsoles.

The second "Sabrina Ionescu" design see's the sneakers adopt a contrasting white colour scheme with black details across the sides, laces, and lining. You'll also find light blue midsoles complete with black and white speckles to complete the outsoles.

Technology-wise, Nike states the shoes come with a new advanced wiper-blade pattern with deep tread grooves designed to help you make sharp, quick cuts on the court.

Moreover, Nike has refined the shape of the Cut 2s heel for a more secure fit, carved out the midsoles to reduce weight, and has added Zoom Air units to the heels to upgrade the feedback response.

That said, the full-length Zoom Air strobel units and drop-in React foam sockliners return for the G.T. Cut sequel to complete the design.

Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 Price

Despite Nike revealing the release date, the price of the Cut 2s was originally kept a mystery.

However, as they have now been released, it's been revealed that both the "Bred" and "Sabrina Ionescu" colourways cost $170 in adult sizing.
