Nike has revealed its brand new Air Max Scorpion sneaker, the brand's first shoe created entirely during the pandemic.

Traditionally, Nike's development process can take years as physical samples are continuously made to perfect the design.

However, with lockdown restrictions in place, a condensed development timeline of just 18 months was used to create the Air Max Scorpion which, according to Nike, was only made possible through new digital tools and technologies combined with decades of Air Manufacturing Innovation.

You may feel this timeline seems rushed; however, the power of the technology has allowed Nike to create what looks to be one of the best Air Max sneakers released in 2022. That being said, here's everything we know about the Air Max Scorpion so far...

Nike Air Max Scorpion Release Date

Nike's official press release confirms that the Air Max Scorpions are out now as of 5 October 2022.

The sneakers appear to only be available in adult sizes at this time; however, both men's and women's sizes are available if you're interested in picking up a pair.

With the release date set, how exactly will the Scorpions look once they arrive? Here's what we know about the design...

Nike Air Max Scorpion Design

The creation of the Air Max Scorpion is perhaps the most intriguing we've ever seen. As mentioned, the shoes are the first sneakers made by Nike during the pandemic and, as a result, are completely unique to previous Air Max models.

Using 3D VR design software plus various machine-learning and simulation tools, Nike has managed to produce one of the craziest Air units to date, offering the most Air in terms of pounds per square inch.

Moreover, instead of the relatively simple forms we've seen in the past, the digital design process has allowed Nike to create more complex geometric shapes for a unique underfoot sensation that resembles the outline of a scorpion's tail.

Up top, the sneakers are made from a first-of-its-kind Flyknit chenille material. Unique to the Scorpions, its short fibres are held perpendicularly in place by two twisted vertical core yarns to form a soft pile texture.

It's also worth noting that the sneakers are made from twenty-percent recycled content by weight, which aligns with Nike's Move To Zero campaign and helps the sneakers give back to the environment.

Nike Air Max Scorpion Price

With the shoes out now, we now know that Scorpions cost $250 in adult sizes after Nike originally kept the retail price a mystery during the initial press release.

As mentioned, there's been no word on whether smaller and presumably cheaper kids' sizes will be made available just yet, so stay tuned to find out more once further details are revealed right here.

Where To Buy The Nike Air Max Scorpion

The scorpions are available at Nike SNKRS in adult sizes right now if you're looking to secure a pair.

However, if the Scorpions sell out before you're able to cop a pair, then head on over to the resell market at StockX as an alternative place to buy.
