A new Air Jordan 1 Mid colourway has emerged and it appears Nike has drawn inspiration from Africa for its latest design.

The story behind the sneakers is unknown, however, they're not the only themed Jordan 1's due to arrive in 2022 with the OG "Brotherhood" high-tops inspired by MJ's University fraternity reportedly arriving later this year.

With that being said, we're focusing on all the latest news surrounding these African-inspired sneakers here, so, without further delay, let's begin...

Air Jordan 1 Mid Africa Release Date

Nike is yet to reveal an official release date for these shoes, with the only information we have so far being a number of detailed images of the design.

According to reports, they're likely to arrive sooner rather than later in 2022, however, this isn't necessarily final

Due to recent delays in Jordan drops, it may be the case that these sneakers are pushed back to a slightly later date than first anticipated.

With so much speculation, make sure you check back in with us because we'll be keeping this article updated with the latest news surrounding these sneakers.

Air Jordan 1 Mid Africa Design

This African-themed design utilises a number of vibrant and warm colours including deep reds, pinks, and oranges across each of the upper panels.

Interestingly, each panel consists of a unique texture from crinkled suede to cracked leather, potentially nodding to the warm African climate and deserts across the continent.

However, the biggest nod to Africa can be seen on the heel tabs as, what appears to be the left shoe, housing a graphic of the continent's silhouette, while the right contains the usual Jumpman logo.

The Jumpman logo also appears on the tongue in a light cream colour, whilst the background is a stark contrast in dark red that matches the toebox.

In typical Jordan 1 fashion, the entire sneaker sits on top of a Nike Air midsole, however, the colour seems to be slightly off-white which is another unique touch to this particular colourway.

Air Jordan 1 Mid Africa Price

With no official listing, it's hard to predict exactly how much these Jordan 1's will cost, especially as they appear to be a rather unique release.

It's likely they will retail for somewhere between $120 - $200, however, we'd recommend waiting for an official listing to be made on Nike.com for confirmation.

Where To Buy Air Jordan 1 Mid Africa

As touched on above, the first place we'll likely see these basketball shoes drop is at Nike.com under the Jordan or basketball subsection.

We'd also recommend signing up for the push notifications as soon as the listing goes live on the SNKRS page or App so you're completely prepared for the upcoming release.
