NBA 2K21 looks amazing on next gen consoles, and things will only get better after the day 1 patch arrives!
This update will feature 40 new face scans, and more are inbound soon.
Let's break down everything we know will land in the NBA 2K21 next gen day 1 update patch notes.
NBA 2K21 Next Gen Face Scans
NBA 2K21 next gen graphics are amazing, and we saw it weeks ago with the next gen gameplay trailer. This trailer featured the fantastic face scans of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Boban Marjanovic, and more.
But while NBA 2K21 has massively expanded on next gen in all areas, face scans were limited for next gen launch due to limited access to NBA players.
Eric Boenisch, NBA 2K executive producer, expanded on this by revealing that NBA 2K had no access to the recent NBA bubble. This made getting face scans for next gen NBA 2K21 difficult.
You can watch his full breakdown below:
Thankfully we'll be getting 40 new face scans to NBA 2K21 next gen with its day 1 patch!
Day 1 Update Patch Notes
While we don't have any formal set of day 1 update patch notes just yet for NBA 2K21 on next gen - we have some ideas for what could be coming.

For starters, we are guaranteed 40 new face scans which we can expect will be as high quality as Stephen Curry's own!

Another change we can expect is a fix for the banner error which displays the NBA 2K20 logo behind the "What's New in NBA 2K21" banner.
These are the only things we can reasonably expect in the day 1 patch, but it'll likely include some other minor bug fixes that may have slipped through to launch.
