He may be just 21 years of age but man, Luka can hoop!
The Dallas Mavericks star has quickly established himself as one of the hottest talents in the NBA and has been rewarded with a HUGE upgrade in NBA 2K21.
But the question is, are there any better young talents in the world right now?
Rating
As far as 2K Sports are concerned, there is no better young talent out there right now than Luka Doncic.
In fact, they only have five players - namely LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant - rated higher overall than the Mavericks man.
His 94 rating is testament to a fantastic season for the Dallas franchise - averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game during the regular season - as the Mavericks finished seventh in the regular season standings.
Versatility
One of the key area's of Luka's game that makes him so good is his versatility - a trait which makes him a first choice for any 2K21 setup.
Whilst he was traditionally used as a small forward, the 6'7" Slovenian is so good with ball in hand that he's often been deployed as a point guard for Mark Cubans franchise.
There are few that can do what Luka does in one position, but to do it in two is quite absurd.
Challengers
As good as Luka is, he's not the only youngster taking the NBA by storm.
There is plenty more young talent chomping at the bit and, whilst Luka may trump them in the rating department for now, there are no guarantees he'll remain there come the games end.
Here is the best of the rest.
Jayson Tatum (OVR 90)
Age: 22
His side may have fallen short of the NBA finals this year, but Jayson Tatum has firmly established himself as one of the NBA's best.
The Celtic's man lead from the front for his side last season - accompanied by a pretty talented supporting cast - if they make the right moves for an established big man in the off-season, JT could see his numbers rise for yet another year.
Trae Young (OVR 88)
Age: 22
He would've been Dallas bound if it weren't for a Draft Day trade between the two franchises which saw Luka head to Dallas whilst Trae went over to Atalanta.
It's a question of what could've been for the Hawks, but as far as Trae is concerned, he's played some serious ball during his short NBA career.
With a substandard squad, it'ss unlikely the Hawks will be challenging for titles anytime soon, an issue which may affect Trae's ability to make it to the very top.
Devin Booker (OVR 88)
Age: 23
The Suns short time in the Bubble was nothing short of miraculous.
The Phoenix outfit finished a perfect 8-0 in Orlando, missing out on a playoff spot by the narrowest of margins, and D Book played a huge part in that success.
The 23-year-old is a little older than his fellow young stars but he has definitely established himself as the man in that Phoenix setup. The next couple of years will be huge as he looks to make himself the best in the business.
