17 = the number of titles that the Boston Celtics have won in their history, making them the most successful franchise to ever play in the NBA.
Their 1960s side was one of the most dominant forces in the history of sport as they won NINE titles in the decade, with only the 76ers win in 67 denying Celtics a clean sweep of the decade.
However, recent times haven't been so successful. It has been over a decade since they last lifted the Championship back in 2008 and despite being one of the favourites last season, they were underwhelming to say the least.
Kyrie Irving's move to Brooklyn paved the way for Hornets star Kemba Walker to join the Cs and they have had a decent start to the season, going 14-5 through their first 19.
Should you choose to try and continue the Cs success on NBA 2K20 then you've come to the right place as here is our MyLEAGUE guide to help you on your way to number 18!
Squad overview
The Boston Celtics are one of the top teams in 2K20, with an 89 OVR rating, consisting of an 87 OVR defense and a 90 rated offense. They have a large market size and considerable fan interest at 81%.
The Celtics' don't have any crazily high rated players, with Kemba their top at 88, however they do have a compete squad, with six players 80 rated or above.
Kemba Walker, Point Guard (OVR 88)
Age: 29Best stats: 98 shot IQ, 98 offensive consistency, 98 intangibles Salary: $32.74MContract length: 3 years
The Celtics star man Kyrie may have left for the Nets, but they've replaced him with another star man in Kemba Walker, with the new point guard adapting to life in Boston perfectly.
Being one of the most creative point guards in the competition, it is no suprise to see Kemba graded A+ in the playmaking department. His 85 rated speed comes in handy for fast breaks and he's no chump from deep either, with an A- three point shot.

Kemba has just signed for the C's and therefore has a three year contract to his name, so you wont need to worry about extensions for the first couple of seasons.
Jayson Tatum, Power Forward (OVR 86)
Age: 21Best stats: 95 intangibles, 95 shot IQ, 93 offensive consistency Salary: $7.83MContract length: 2 years
It's crazy to think that Jayson Tatum is still only 21 years old. The third overall pick in the 2017 draft has quickly become a senior member of the Celtics squad and is regularly trusted to hit the game winner.
His 95 shot IQ helps down the stretch, as does his 93 rated stamina. Tatum has three hot zones in game, in the paint and the two left most zones outside from three point range. So make sure you utilise him on the left for maximum efficiency.Tatum currently collects (just) $7.83M a season and has two years left on his contract. You will have to offer him significantly more if you want to keep him on your squad when that contract expires.
Romeo Langford, Shooting Guard (OVR 72)
Age: 19
Best stats: 92 stamina, 85 hustle, 84 speed
Salary: $3.46MContract length: 2 years
With the fourteenth overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics selected Indiana shooting guard, Romeo Langford.

Game time has been limited for Langford since his arrival in Boston, largely turning out for their G-League affiliates the Maine Red Claws. As a 72 OVR, Langford is one of the lower rated sides in the Celtics set up, and unless you're staying for the long term, he is unlikely to make your starting five anytime soon.
His speed (84), stamina (92) and acceleration (84) mean he is one of the quicker shooting guards in the game, so should you choose to keep him, he will be able to take advantage of those tired defences in his cameo appearances.
Contracts and Finances
NBA 2K20_20191202021524
The Celtics currently have four players who are inline for contract extensions, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, Semi Ojeleye and Brad Wanamaker, although Wanamaker is inelligiable as his initial contract was only for one year.
The other three players start the season with their status on an extension undecided, their are a number of different aspects which will count towards their decision, with the main one being the amount of playing time they are awarded.
STARS! Two of the Celtics starting five are up for extension
The good news with regards to those extensions is that the C's have plenty of room in the Luxury Tax department - $13.27M to be exact - which means that you wont have to worry about not finding the funds for those extensions.

The Salary Cap Room is an issue though, -$9.73M means you will have to get rid of some of your squad if you're looking at making any new signings.
That shouldn't be an issue though, as the squad is currently at a decent enough level to make the playoffs and compete once you get there. There is always the option of proposing trades too and with young talents like Tatum and Brown in the ranks, you have some valuable assets.
Path to the title
If you want to bring that illusive 18th banner to the TD Garden, you're going to need to play smart (no, not Marcus)
Whilst the Celtics do have a complete overall squad, they do lack firepower in the points department compared to the other big seeds in the NBA.
BUCKS! We simmed a season and the it's a second successive 2nd round loss to the Bucks
The Eastern Conference looks like an easier route to a Championship than the West, which will help your cause, however with the 76ers and Bucks both possessing multiple big point scorers, even that may be tough.
The next banner may not be too far away, however it will likely take some time to get it hung.
