NBA 2K19: San Antonio Spurs Player Ratings and Roster

The Spurs will look to enter a season in a world in which they no longer roster Kawhi Leonard. After much drama last season, the Spurs were forced to trade a very disgruntled Leonard and test the limits of Gregg Popovich’s coaching abilities.

Starting Lineup

Dejounte Murray, PG (OVR 78)

Age: 21

Height: 6’5”

Traits: Two-Way Star

Best Attributes: lateral quickness, Steals, Ball Handling

Although he was picked up during his rookie year by the Spurs, he definitely didn’t see that much play during that year. Only playing 38 games, he put up a soul-crushing 3.4 points averaged and only 1.3 assists across the board. Combined with a 1.1 total rebounds averaged as well, no one has any real expectations for him sadly.

DeMar DeRozan, SG (OVR 89)

Age: 28

Height: 6’7”

Traits: Offensive Superstar

Best Attributes: Stamina, Layups, Mid-Range

DeRozan is the main return piece of the Leonard trade. For obvious reasons, DeRozan was pretty upset to find out he was traded after being told a number of times by management that he would not be traded. That being said, DeRozan does find himself in a good spot on a team that desperately needs scoring. Having netted himself a solid 23.0 average last season and 5.2 assists averaged as well, no one can say that DeRozan won’t shine hard come 2019.

Rudy Gay, SF (OVR 78)

Age: 31

Height: 6’8”

Traits: Elite Inside Scorer

Best Attributes: Stamina, Layups, Vertical

Although he’s been one of the long-standing members on the team, Rudy Gay has seemed to be on a bit of a decline as of late. Only averaging 11.5 points last year, as well as only having 5.1 total rebounds averaged, it seems his best years are done. His one redeeming hope is that his team will be able to help him out and make him look good this year.

LaMarcus Aldridge, PF (OVR 88)

Age: 32

Height: 6’11”

Traits: Low Post Star

Best Attributes: Post Offense, Layups, Strength

Although he may not seem like it, LaMarcus is packing some serious heat on the court. For a team that is looking to power through the season without one of their all-time stars, his 18.0 point average per game and 8.5 rebounds per game average will be very necessary if the team wants to excel. His 1.5 assists isn’t too bad either.

Pau Gasol, C (OVR 79)

Age: 37

Height: 7’0”

Traits: Low Post Star

Best Attributes: Post Offense, Rebounding, Blocks

Possibly the oldest player on the Spurs’ roster, Pau Gasol has had some impressive years in the past. However, the past year was definitely not nice to him. Barely scraping the double digit points with a 10.1 average per game, he showed more skill on defense, holding 8.0 average rebounds per game, as well as 1.0 blocks per game. He also had 3.1 assists, showing him transitioning from a primary scorer to a more supportive role.
