Pretty much at the bottom of the pile, you would assume the Kings’ were jesters’ in shiny robes. Having finished at 25th in a combined ranking list at the end of the 2018 season, they only beat out the Magic, Hawks, Mavericks, Grizzlies, and Suns. At this point, it looks grim to whether or not they will even succeed at getting to the upper part of the rankings.
Starting Lineup
De’Aaron Fox, PG (OVR 78)
Age: 20
Height: 6’3”
Traits: Athletic Playmaker
Best Attributes: Speed, Acceleration, Ball Handling
Fox’s first season left a lot to be desired. Only averaging 11.6 points per game, he did have a respectable 4.4 assists averaged, making him a strong playmaker of the roster. Although his eFG% is a low .441, he is still seen as a strong team glue.
Buddy Hield, SG (OVR 79)
Age: 24
Height: 6’4”
Traits: Sharpshooter
Best Attributes: 3pt, Stamina, Mid-range
Hoping to make a stronger impact this year around as one of the starters, Hield is looking to impress on the court. Getting 13.5 points per game averaged, he also is a strong rebounder, with an average of 3.8 rebounds per game. His eFG% is standing high above the rest at .540, giving him some ground as to why he deserves to be on the court.
Justin Jackson, SF (OVR 73)
Age: 23
Height: 6’8”
Traits: Shooter
Best Attributes: Mid-Range, Vertical, Layups
There really isn’t anything to even talk about with Jackson. Averaging an absolutely abysmal 6.7 points per game last year, he only holds 2.8 total rebounds per game, meaning he may just be a liability if he doesn’t improve for the 2019 season.
Marvin Bagley, PF (OVR 78)
Age: 19
Height: 6’11”
Traits: Rebounding Specialist
Best Attributes: Vertical, rebounding, Layups
Marvin has a decent road ahead of him. Coming into one of weakest team in the conference, he has the possibility of becoming a strong player. As a complete rookie on the team, he has no stats that we can look at, but many assume he will have at least a respectable start to his rookie year.
Willie Cauley-Stein, C (OVR 79)
Age: 24
Height: 7’0”
Traits: Rebounding Specialist
Best Attributes: Layups, Blocks, Rebounding
Of the starting roster, Willie is probably the most experienced in terms of the King’s style. Having had a decent season last year, better than his previous ones, he averaged a solid 12.8 points per game as a center, as well as a good 7.0 average rebounds per game. Not only that, he had a good 2.4 average assists, meaning he was not only able to shoot, but was also able to create shots for his teammates.
