NBA 2K19: Los Angeles Lakers Player Ratings and Roster

Well this should be fun. The world gets to watch the drama unfold as the late LeBron James attempts to carry a team that has brought shame on the Lakers name every season in recent memory. Lakers fans have had little to look forward to since Kobe Bryant’s retirement but now fans have a reason to tune in once again.

Starting Lineup

Rajon Rondo, PG (OVR 79)

Age: 32

Height:6’1”

Traits: Two-Way Point

Best Attributes: Passing, Ball Handling, Lateral Quickness

Well into his years, this will be Rajon Rondo’s first season on the Lakers. Well-known as a strong playmaker, Rondo has only averaged 8.3 points last season, but has put up a staggering 8.2 assists, which is just 3 below his all-time high of 11.7. This will be a great compliment to having LeBron James as one of their point men.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG (OVR 76)

Age: 25

Height: 6’5”

Traits: Lockdown Defender

Best Attributes: Stamina, Speed, Ball Handling

Having played with Detroit for his first four seasons, the 2018 season saw him perform pretty solidly. Having averaged 13.4 points throughout the season, as well as 2.2 assists, he also hit a career high .426 FG%. Although not the best standout player, some expect decent results from him.

Brandon Ingram, SF (OVR 82)

Age: 20

Height: 6’9”

Traits: Versatile offensive Wing

Best Attributes: 3pt, Stamina, Mid-Range

One of the more outspoken athletes about being able to play with the king himself, Brandon Ingram has some serious rep to be able to back his claims. In his last season, he was able to post an average of 16.1 points, with a .470 FG%. This means that he can find and attempt more shots than others, making him a strong opponent to face off against.

LeBron James, PF (OVR 98)

Age: 33

Height: 6’8”

Traits: All-Around Superstar

Best Attributes: Stamina, Layups, Passing

The King has decided to take his talents to Hollywood and face the beast that is the current Western Conference. After finishing his first complete season (82 games played) of his career while carrying the lacklustre Cavaliers with 27.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 9.1 assists, it's understandable as to why James wanted to leave Cleveland.

James is ready to move on to a new phase of his career, that of a businessman. While he will still play his heart out every time he steps on the floor, Los Angeles paves the way for big revenue off the court as well.

JaVale McGee, C (OVR 77)

Age: 30

Height: 7’0”

Traits: Tenacious Rebounder

Best Attributes: Blocks, Dunks, Rebounding

With over a decade of experience in the NBA, JaVale McGee will be looking to bring some defensive posturing to his team. Unfortunately, it seems that he won’t be able to with how he played last season. Only averaging 2.5 total rebounds and holding a measly 4.8 points averaged, one can only hope that he can actually be a strong blocker and defender.
