In general, NBA players over the age of 30 start to see regression and struggle to keep up with the athletic feats of the younger players. Somehow, this squad managed to defy the odds with a regular season record of 62-20 and a NBA Title over the Utah Jazz, 4-2. As the two-time defending champs, this team was faced with plenty of obstacles and still managed to come out on top.
Starting Lineup
Ron Harper, PG (OVR 77)
Age: 34
Height: 6’6”
Traits: Perimeter Defender
Best Stats: Lateral Quickness, Ball Handling, Stamina
As the starting point guard on a team led by Jordan, your job was simply to get him the ball and play defense. Harper filled this role well with averages of 9.3 points, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. His size at the point guard position helped to position him well as a fit on this roster. Current head coach of the Warriors, Steve Kerr, often shared minutes with Harper as his offensive-minded backup.
Michael Jordan, SG (OVR 98)
Age: 35
Height: 6’6”
Traits: All-Around Superstar
Best Stats: Layups, Mid-Range, Lateral Quickness
To no one’s surprise, Jordan was the star on this team and drove its success. Even in the later years of his career, Michael was capable of great feats. He played in every game and averaged 28.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
Scottie Pippen, SF (OVR 88)
Age: 32
Height: 6’8”
Traits: Two-Way Wing
Best Stats: Lateral Quickness, Mid-Range, Layups
Pippen experienced an injury-shortened season that allowed him to only play in half of the games. He still managed to average 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Dennis Rodman, PF (OVR 83)
Age: 37
Height: 6’8”
Traits: Elite Paint Protector
Best Stats: Rebounding, Strength, Stamina
Fans often talk about the “big 3” of Chicago being Jordan, Pippen and Rodman. However, many don’t realize that Rodman came over in the twilight of their careers and was really a one-dimensional player at this point. He averaged 4.7 points, 15 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
Toni Kukoc, SF (OVR 78)
Age: 29
Height: 6’11”
Traits: Scoring Wing
Best Stats: Mid-Range, Layups, 3PT
Kukoc was an odd scoring wing, as his height led many to believe that he might dominate inside. With averages of 13.3 points. 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, Toni preferred to do his damage from outside the paint.
