LATEST: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Release Time & Date

The first round of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass races will finally go live this Friday, March 18th! The new content should be downloadable at midnight your local time, but this is yet to be fully confirmed.

This new booster pass includes the following maps:

  • Paris Promenade (Tour)

  • Choco Mountain (N64)
  • Coconut Mall (Wii)
  • Tokyo Blue (Tour)
  • Shroom Ridge (DS)
  • Sky Garden (GBA)
  • Ninja Hideaway (Tour)

This will be the first wave of new maps for Mario Kart 8, and gives fans something to work with until the next batch. which may not be too far off!

The game is sure to get much, much bigger over the following year. This Pass is a clear sign they aren't done with the game, and while that's good news for Mario Kart fans, it could mean we're a ways away from Mario Kart 9.

How does the Deluxe Booster Course work?

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is an incremental piece of DLC, bringing the history of Mario Kart to the game. All the way from the start of the series till now, we will see some of the franchises' most iconic tracks arrive.

If you are a member of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack service, you will get this DLC totally for free. This means signing up grants you access to tonnes of NES, SNES and N64 games, alongside a DLC for Animal Crossing, a handful of new games and access to future Nintendo DLC alongside it. Needless to say, this is starting to become a much more interesting service.

Hopefully, this is only the start and future games will have DLC in there too.
