Madden 23 is now official, and we're finally learning about the new features coming this year including the revamped gameplay system with FieldSENSE.
Unfortunately, all of these new upgrades ignore Madden 23 players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC once again.
Madden 23 introduces FieldSENSE gameplay for PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only
The hype train towards launch is rolling full steam ahead as the Madden 23 cover featuring John Madden was first revealed and many new details have followed.
Madden 23 is set for a release date on August 19, 2022, but only players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will get the true full experience.
Madden 23 introduces a new FieldSENSE gameplay system which is highlighted in the trailer below, but they relegate one of the biggest factors to the fine print.

FieldSENSE is reinventing gameplay from the ground up in several areas, and the added animations along with redesigned physics via Hit Everything have the potential to make this one of the most fun Madden games in years.
Perhaps the most exciting piece of the puzzle for some players, Skill Based Passing completely reworks as passing system that has received tons of criticism in recent years.
That's supplemented by 360 Cuts, a new running mechanic that will allow more accuracy as a ball carrier in all situations.
Unfortunately, all of these top notch additions will be missing from Madden 23 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Madden 23 players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC are being ignored
Once again, EA Sports has shown that while Madden 23 will still release on the past generation of consoles, it's won't really be Madden 23.
We saw the generation gap open up first with Madden 21, as they introduced Next Gen Player Moment fueled by Next Gen Stats on the freshly released PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions only.
Madden 22 continued this trend as major upgrades like Dynamic Gameday were kept exclusive to those consoles while PS4, Xbox One, and PC players weren't even given comparable improvements.
For all its flaws, NBA 2K22 at least attempted to continue providing a current gen alternative with events exclusive to Cancha Del Mar for players who didn't have access to next gen exclusive The City.
We've still got time between launch to learn if there are any upgrades to Madden 23 that PS4, PC, and Xbox One players will receive, but the chances look fairly slim.
This is a continuing problem as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S supplies struggle to keep up with demand, and the sheer volume of PS4 and Xbox One consoles available mean that those two alone likely house a significant majority of the Madden player base.
