Madden 21 is on the way, and we have our first confirmed ratings in this year's rookie class!
There's plenty of potential star power in this draft and a lot is expected of them. How do they rate though???
Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals - 76 OVR
As we predicted, Joe Burrow gets a 76 OVR rating for Cincinnati!
The #1 pick has 86 throw power, 88 short accuracy, and 85 deep accuracy. He also brings 83 speed to get creative with his feet.
MUT STAR: Burrow is 99 OVR in Ultimate Team
This seems harsh but it's good compared to last year's 1st overall Kyler Murray who was 73 OVR. Madden doesn't like to rate young QBs too highly, but you can guarantee he will have Superstar dev to raise that quickly.
Jeff Okudah, Detroit Lions - 76 OVR
The top CB in the draft gets 76 OVR.
Okudah is set to be a monster in Madden 21 for the Lions, and is a big reason why they allowed Darius Slay to leave.
Henry Ruggs, Las Vegas Raiders - 76 OVR
The Raiders' speedster Henry Ruggs matches Burrow with 76 OVR.
He has a monstrous 98 speed and 97 acceleration to go along with 83 catching and 80 deep route running.
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys - 75 OVR
The Cowboys were lucky to find CeeDee Lamb fall into their laps in the draft.
The receiver gets 90 speed and 90 acceleration to go along with 84 spectacular catch and 84 catching.
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins - 73 OVR
Before the 2019 college season, Tagovailoa was nailed on to be 1st overall. But with Burrow's performance and a bad injury, he slipped to a grateful Dolphins team at #5.
Tua hits Madden 21 with a 73 OVR, a touch higher than we expected.
LEFTY: A rare left-handed QB, Tua could throw some players off
Tua comes with 81 speed to be mobile but not threatening, while his 88 throw power is put with 86 short accuracy & 81 medium accuracy to make him a deadly player. He's also got a very good 84 play action.
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers - 71 OVR
The fourth QB off the board is the third-highest among the rookie passers.
The new Packers QB has 81 speed and 90 throw power.
That comes with 84 short accuracy and 81 deep accuracy.
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers - 70 OVR
Justin Herbert may have been taken #6 in the Draft, but the Madden Ratings team has not been kind.
The new Charger has 82 speed and a huge 92 throw power. However, that comes with 83 short accuracy and a poor 76 deep accuracy.
The rest of the first round predictions
Remember that Madden 20 changed the rating system to make it more spread out, with only eight rookies rated higher than 76.
The confirmed rookie ratings are in bold, the rest are our predictions. Will we be right!
