This Liverpool kit is remembered for several reasons, one of which is that it beat Everton 3–2 in the FA Cup final that season, which is why we've labeled the timing of this deal as perfect. However, Liverpool's entire season was unfortunately overshadowed by the Hillsborough disaster that took place on 15 April 1989; the darkest day in the club's history.

The importance of that day and the years that have followed can not and should not be downplayed, and it is a real shame because what Kenny Dalglish's team achieved that season is impressive to look back on, with the team missing out on the First Divison trophy by the narrowest of margins.

The kit is historic, and what it achieved should definitely be celebrated, even with the black cloud over it. If you want to show your support for your club and own such an important piece of history, then today is the day to do it as it is on sale.
