Life is Strange: True Colors is the popular follow-up to the original Life is Strange game. Set within a completely new story and with some new mechanics, there's plenty to look forward to.
Being a big part of the previous games, you may be wondering if Life Is Strange: True Colors is episodic this time. Here's what you need to know.
Release Date
Life is Strange: True Colors officially launches on September 10th, this Friday. This leaves mere hours until you can play it for yourself.
Luckily, on release day, you can play the entire thing in one go. That being said, that doesn't mean it's not episodic.
Is Life Is Strange: True Colors Episodic?
There isn't a staggered release like previously games, but True Colors is structured like an episodic adventure. The game is split into 5 main parts, each of which can be played after each other.
This gives players the best part of both experiences. It can layer its story structure in a specific way, allowing for planned intermissions and to give it some tension. It also avoids the burnout of losing players who can't be bothered to wait a month to finish the game.
Life is Strange: True Colors on Xbox Game Pass?
As of right now, there are no plans to bring the game to Xbox Game Pass, or at least no confirmed ones. That being said, Life Is Strange 2 made its way to the service so there's always a chance we will see it.
If we do see Life is Strange: True Colors come to Xbox Game Pass, it will likely be in a year or so.
Release Time
Although the game is planned for release on September 10th, many places will actually see the game a little early. Steam suggests that the game will unlock at 9 am PT / 5 pm BST the day beforehand.
Australia and Singapore will be the ones to get it a bit later, sometime around the middle of the 10th. This being said, it may not unlock at exactly that time. If this is the case, give it half an hour or so and try again. Eventually, they will let you in there to play it for yourself.
