World of Warcraft: Classic's newest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, has finally been released, bringing Azeroth's heroes to the new continent of Northrend.
This new area is the source of the evil undead Scourge and, of course, the Lich King, Arthas, who sits on the Frozen Throne at the top of Icecrown Citadel in Icecrown. The new expansion tasks players with traveling to Northrend and putting a stop to all of this but before they can get to the Lich King, they'll first have to get started somewhere else—Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord.
With that, here's how to start Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
How to start Wrath of the Lich King Classic
Prior to setting out on your frozen adventures to Northrend, you must first decide where to start. You'll have between two choices, each in the furthest corners of the new continent: Borean Tundra to the southwest or Howling Fjord to the southeast.
Borean Tundra
Borean Tundra is perhaps the favorite of the two as not only is it the most accessible but the zone itself seemingly has a wider variety of questing areas with less topographical troubles. Additionally, it provides an easy transition to Dragonblight, which is one of the central leveling zones in all of Northrend.
Horde players can get to Borean Tundra via a zeppelin just outside of Ogrimmar's main gates. At the main gate, make a right turn and head west until you come across the zeppelin tower. Once there, make sure to hop on the zeppelin whose Zeppelin Master is Greeb Ramrocket.
Alliance players, as opposed to Horde players, can take a boat ride to Borean Tundra. The boat can be found in the Stormwind City Harbor at the dock at the far north end of Stormwind City Harbor.
It has a unique look to it, making it stand out from all of the rest of the boats. Its hull, or body, is decorated in steel with a griffin peaking out of its bow.

Howling Fjord
Howling Fjord could be special for some as it's a little bit more lively. Although it's teeming with Vrykul as it is their homeland, the zone is a nice contrast to Borean Tundra.
Horde players can get to Howling Fjord by taking a zeppelin, just like Borean Tundra. However, this zeppelin isn't by Ogrimmar's main gates, instead, it's by Undercity, specifically, Tirisfal Glades.
After arriving at Undercity—via a Mage portal or a zeppelin ride from Orgrimmar—walk out through its front gates and approach the zeppelin tower on the western side of the region, the far left when you walk out o the gates. Go up the zeppelin tower and hop on the flying machine.
Alliance players, on the other hand, have it quite easy when it comes to getting to Howling Fjord. First and foremost, if unlocked, take a flight path to Menethil Harbor.
Upon arriving at Menethil Harbor, make your way to the docks, specifically the dock on the far right. You'll know you're in the right place when you see its dockmaster, Ludin Farrow.
Like the boat that takes you to Borean Tundra in Stormwind City Harbor, it's unique in its look as it's decorated with golden accents around its sides and is topped with an eagle's head on its bow.
