If you're a PlayStation player and a fan of racing, chances are you've already become quite accustomed to Polyphony's Gran Turismo Sport.
However, for those that haven't, here's your chance to get up to scratch with the racer.
So, with Gran Turismo 7 now delayed until 2022, chances are many more are going to be picking up the game. Here's the guide with all you need to know!
Latest news - Update 1.64 coming soon!
GT Sport is getting some server maintenance on 25 March, and once they are back online a new update will be available.
Update 1.64 could see fresh content land in the game for the first time in over a year. Or it could just focus on the GT Sport Online Championships. Keep your fingers crossed!
The Campaign
Many people think of Gran Turismo Sport as strictly a multiplayer game, and whilst the game does heavily focus on that, you can play offline. However, it's not your average campaign mode.
Instead, you can race offline against a number of AI, in any car and on any track that you wish.
There is also the GT League, which is the closest the game has to a true campaign mode. Here, you race against progressively harder AI and require ever faster vehicles.
Multiplayer
This isn't a game that you can jump into and simply hop into a race with your friend online. Instead, you have to start by completing the 'What Is Sportsmanship' section and watching a video showcasing how not to drive.
You will also need PS Plus. However, once you've completed these and have subscribed to Plus, you can get your friends into your lobby and get racing!
Split-screen
The game also has a split-screen multiplayer for racing your mates in person!
In the offline multiplayer menu, all you have to do is select 2-player battle and get driving against each other.
Tuning & setup
For many of the online races, tunes are locked, and even the car that you're allowed to use.
However, there are certain races where you can tune your car. To do so, click Car Options, and from here you can adjust everything from gear ratios to ride height.
You can also do certain things to make your cars faster in GT Sport. Start by heading to Car Settings and select one of the cars you own.
We recommend kicking things off by leveling up your power level and weight reduction level.
Drifting
Yes, GT Sport even has drifting. There are even Drift Trials for players to master in a car of their choice.
If you're struggling to get started with racing sideways, then check out the Drift Guide we have here!
Using your wheel
It is simple enough to get a wheel setup with GT Sport, but there are certain things you should be careful about.
Ensure that the wheel you have is first compatible with PS4 or PS5. Next, you'll need somewhere to affix the wheel and pedals.
Finally, get practicing! That first jump to wheel from controller can be a bit scary, but trust in the process, and enjoy mastering your racing.
