The PlayStation Showcase 2021 has happened and we saw more from God of War Ragnarok, but not quite as much as we hoped.
Latest - New Trailer at PlayStation Showcase 2021
At the PlayStation Showcase, we were shown a new trailer, which is our first real look at the game.
God of War Ragnarok is "picking up a few years after the events of God of War (2018). The freezing winds of Fimbulwinter have come to Midgard, making survival for Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir in the Norse wilds even more challenging than before."
You can read all about it over on the PlayStation Blog.
God of War Ragnarok Release Date
The God of War Ragnarok final release date has not be confirmed yet, but we do know that it will release in 2022.
Back when it was God of War 2, or at least the subtitle hadn't been made official, it was slated to release in 2021, but it has since been pushed back to next year.
No hints were given about when in the year we might expect it, but since it was initially due to release this year, it's certainly possible that release will be early in 2022.
Also, no release date news was revealed at the PlayStation Showcase. It is still coming in 2022, but we have no more details.
God of War Ragnarok Pre Order Details
Since no release date was revealed, no pre order details have been revealed either.
We'll have to wait for the next time the game shows up at a State or Play or presentation.
What they did with Horizon Forbidden West was announce the release date and then open up pre orders a few weeks later, giving them time to hype up the special editions and prepare all of the retailers.
It is possible, or maybe even likely, that the same thing happens with God of War Ragnarok soon.
As soon as the God of War Ragnarok pre order details are revealed and the special editions are detailed, we'll be sure to update you.
