2018's God of War is considered by many to be one of the greatest PlayStation games of all time and ever since it took the world by storm, fans of the game have been anticipating its sequel, God of War Ragnarök.

If you've been keeping up with PlayStation news online over the last year, the buzz around God of War Ragnarök and the questions surrounding its potential delay and release date have been non-stop, until now.

God of War Ragnarök finally has a release date thanks to a brand new cinematic trailer andeven had it's collector's editions revealed. Here is all the information.

God of War Ragnarök Release Date

Revealed via a cinematic trailer titled "Father and Son", God of War Ragnarök will be released on Wednesday, 9th November, 2022 on PS4 and PS5.

November has long been the reported month for God of War Ragnarök, with this reveal initially scheduled for the end of June before it was internally delayed. Many fans believed that the release date would be Friday, 11th November, 2022 which was the former date of the Xbox exclusive Starfield before it was delayed into 2023.

Collector's Edition and Jotnar Edition

Fans also got an official look at both of the major special editions that will be available to purchase from Friday, 15th July 2022 at 10 am local time (10am EST for the United States of America).

Titled the Collector's and Jotnar Editions respectively, both editions give players a set of physical collectable items related to the game that can be displayed.

Both versions' main talking point is the 16-inch replica of Thor's hammer Mjölnir alongside some in-game items and some polyhedral dice. The Jotnar Edition of God of War Ragnarök will be the most expensive and features all the stuff that can be found in the collector's edition will but also features a cloth map, carvings of the Vanir Twins, a Cloth Map, a legendary Draupnir Ring, a falcon, bear and wolf pin set and a vinyl record of the soundtrack.
