Surprising Outcomes

If you're a Peterborough United fan then you can start smiling, because the Posh captured the Premier League title in the year 2272.

Some bad news, most of you reading this won't be around at that point, but at least you'll know that the great, great, great, great, great grandkids will be smiling.

In terms of the Premier League 'Big Six', they all look to have survived the drop from the division, bar one...

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City all still feature in the top flight, but Liverpool are noticeable in their absence.

The Reds have slipped from the Premier League and into the Championship, finishing 8th, missing out on the play-offs and sitting below Norwich City, who have probably been promoted and relegated 125 times (TBC).

The furthest falling Premier League side are Bournemouth, with the Cherries slipping from the Prem and back into League One.

In terms of a team that has made the biggest jump, that looks to be Oldham Athletic, with one of the Premier League's founding members finally finding their way back to the big time over the course of 250 years.

Just don't mention that they will also be relegated in 2272.

In terms of Champions League success, Newcastle will capture the coveted trophy in 2034, beating Manchester City to the prize by a year.

Burnley can also etch their name in the history books, with the Clarets capturing the Champions League in 2068.

After a hattrick of Blackburn Rovers wins in the Champions League, Union Berlin is the most recent side to life the prestigious trophy in 2272.
