FM 16 Cheats - We've all been there. So you've just taken Bromley FC to their first ever Champions League final after 10 seasons of serious graft. You're knee-deep into a two week bender of Football Manager, a time so blurry you've forgotten what the shower looks like, but the demands of sanity pale in comparison to the need for greatness, so that doesn't matter.
You're almost on the cusp of glory, but somehow, Real Madrid found a way past you. Devastated doesn't even come close. 10 seasons of hard-work taking Bromley to big time, wasted, just like that.
So what do you do?
Quit the game and revert back to your last saved game (which would've been on the day of Champions League final) and play until you win.
Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to the world of cheating on Football Manager.
Cheating in Football Manager is probably nothing new to the avid fan, but in the event that your current game save is giving you a few problems, here are three of the best ways to cheat on FM 16:
1 - The Money Cheat
The old 'take over another side and spend their whole transfer budget' cheat is perhaps the most well-known of the lot, and ridiculously easy to implement. Check out our list of the top 20 teams with the biggest transfer budgets.
Step 1 - Become manager of a second, wealthy club, and bid for one of the players at your first club.
Let's suppose you start a career game with Norwich, but you're not too happy about their starting budget of £11.8m. You can take over Arsenal with another manager, and bid their entire transfer budget on one of your reserve players, as shown below:
As if I was ever going to select 'protest transfer'.
STEP 2 - Enjoy your new-found fortune
Go through the formalities of the deal (offering the contract etc.), wait a few days and once the deal is completed, enjoy your new-found riches.
Step 3 - Retire As Manager Of the club you took over
Now retire as manager of Arsenal (or whichever rich club you picked) and continue as normal. Before, Norwich had just £11.8m, but after selling Lafferty for £70m, they now have £64.67m to use.
2 - The "Quit Before You Save" Cheat
This one does pretty much what it says on the tin. If you ever find yourself in a must-win game, save your game just before kick-off.
If you lose, then select 'quit to start screen' (to quit) and then the 'no' option (to make sure the game doesn't save), then re-load your game, and go again.
3 - The FM Editor Cheat
Seeing as the in-game editor costs £3.99 and doesn't offer you as many options for customisation as the normal Editor tool, I've focused purely on the full version, rather than the Football Manager’s in-game editor tool. (Take a look at our handy guide explaining how to download FM Editor and the best ways to use it.)
The possibilities with the editor tool are endless and it’s the mastermind behind our 'FM Stories' series, which saw us put Barcelona in League 2, Ronaldo Back at Man Utd, Celtic in the Premier League and the world's two best players at Aston Villa.
You can customise anything from the level of money a club has, how good each player is, to how big you want your home ground to be. It's literally a cheaters paradise, and is a really fun tool to play around with once you've exhausted all the game-saves you can think of.
Why not create your Sunday league team on FM, or even add yourself to your favourite team? Why not make your Altrincham Town side as good as Barcelona? Heck, why not create a European super league of all the best teams in the world and see who comes out on top?!
Like I said, you can pretty much do whatever you like with the editor tool. So let your imagination run wild!
