The FUT Birthday festivities are taking over FIFA 23 in celebration of Ultimate Team's 15th anniversary this year.
As usual, EA will release a FUT Birthday promo squad into packs but this year we are also set to see special Icon cards released.
As well as the FUT Birthday Icons, a brand-new card type named 'FUT Birthday Twins' will reportedly be introduced.
So, what are the FUT Birthday Twin items all about? Find out how the new cards will work in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team below.
FUT Birthday Twin items explained
EA has not yet released official information on the FUT Birthday Twin cards, but reliable Ultimate Team leaker Fut Sheriff has shed some light on how they will work.
The FUT Birthday Twin concept sees two versions of the same player releases at the same time, one with five-star skill moves and the other with a five-star weak foot.
The FUT Birthday Twin pairs will have a slightly different card design to the standard items, with a Twin symbol depicted above the OVR.
Release date
We now know that the FUT Birthday Twin items will arrive as part of a mini-release.
The FUT Birthday Twin cards will be released on Sunday, 26 March at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
FIFA 24
With the FIFA 23 game cycle in a bit of a lull right now, fans are beginning to wonder when the next title in the series will be released.
Well, it's important to understand that FIFA as we know it will not be named 'FIFA 24'. Instead, it will now be named 'EA Sports FC', following the well-documented split between FIFA and EA Sports after ongoing licensee fee issues
So, we're not looking forward to a FIFA 24 release date but now an 'EA Sports FC' release date - the title of EA's new footballing sim, set to arrive in 2023.
We expect to see an EA Sports FC release date of around Friday, 29 September 2023, in keeping with the FIFA titles that have gone before.
