We're taking another early look at the FIFA 22 TOTW to determine who's worthy of a spot on the squad. Despite many games in European leagues not taking place until Sunday afternoon, you might think there are very few options.
Thankfully, that's not the case and there are some players who managed to stand out from the crowd. Here's who we think will land a spot on the FIFA 22 TOTW come Wednesday's announcement.
Cristiano Ronaldo
The ageless wonder that is CR7 managed to spearhead a massive 3-2 win for Manchester United scoring quite the hat-trick. It started with a long-range strike that sent Old Trafford into raptures and ended with a late header that seemed to surprise even the man himself.
A fantastic overall performance, it came at the best time for Ronaldo and United who will be hoping for an Arsenal slip-up as they compete for the Champions League places in the Premier League.
Alvaro Morata
Juventus are outsiders for any kind of Serie A title challenge but they're still hoping to finish strong and have hopes for a Champions League glory ahead of the second leg of their tie with Villareal.
Alvaro Morata bagged himself a double in their 3-1 win over Sampdoria ensuring that they head into Wednesday's game in good spirits.
Matthias Ginter
In a battle towards the bottom of the Bundesliga, Monchengladbach took on - and defeated - Hertha Berlin. In what was a tight back and forth affair, Gladbach ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a great defensive effort AND goal from Matthias Ginter.
The big German Centre Back could be looking for a move in the Summer as his contract expires and he becomes a free agent. Performances like this will certainly help his cause! He appeared in the TOTW early on in the season so this would be his second FIFA 22 call-up.
Silver Mention - Callum O'Hare
Because I am a proud fan of Coventry City, it's about time a great performance of ours was recognised via a TOTW card in FIFA 22. Attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare is deserving of this honour!
In a 4-1 dismantling of Sheffield United, the talented O'Hare bagged a double while also setting up another. Give me this one, EA!
