There's still plenty of life left in FIFA 21, with the new Summer Stars cards having been released as part of the Festival of FUTball promo in Ultimate Team.
However, FIFA 22 is on the horizon, and EA has teased the reveal date and a brand new game mode in the build-up to the 2021 EA Play event!

Reveal date teased ahead of EA Play
EA has announced that four EA Spotlight events will feature in the lead-up to the EA Play main event, teasing a FIFA 22 reveal date.
The EA Play 2021 main event will take place on Thursday, 22 July at approximately 6pm BST / 1pm ET.
EA has revealed that there will be four separate EA Spotlight events in the build-up to the main event, with each event focusing on specific talking points from selected titles.

"The Future of First-Person Shooters" - Apex Legends and Battlefield 2042 - Thursday, 8 July (6pm BST / 1pm ET)
"EA <3s Independent Studios" - It Takes Two, Lost in Random and Knockout City - Tuesday, 13 July (6pm BST / 1pm ET)
"Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting - How the Community is Shaping Madden NFL 22" - Monday 19 July 19 (6pm BST / 1pm ET)
EA is teasing an event that will feature "an extremely cool new addition to an extremely popular and long-running EA SPORTS franchise" - Tuesday, 20 July 20 (6pm BST / 1pm ET)
New Game Mode coming to FIFA 22?
The final Spotlight event seems to be describing EA Sports FIFA!
In regards to the "new addition" to the franchise, many fans are speculating that EA could announce an Online Career Mode for FIFA 22, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
For the EA Play main event, EA are promising "real excitement, focusing on games that are coming out soon rather than in the all-to-distant future"
"The show is a fast-paced one, coming in around 40 minutes and will feature what’s next for games like Battlefield 2042 and Apex Legends," EA revealed on their official website.
"You’ll also see the first gameplay for Lost in Random, featuring explosive dice battles, time-freezing tactics and card collection.
"We’ll have a couple other games to highlight as well, but for those, you’ll just have to wait and see."
