There's plenty going on in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team at the moment, with the Warmup Series in full flow ahead of the hotly anticipated Team of the Season (TOTS) promo.
EA has also issued the latest ratings update and despite winning Ligue 1 already, a certain PSG player has seen his stats slashed!
Struggling superstar
It's not all been smooth sailing for Lionel Messi since leaving his boyhood club Barcelona, to say the least.
The Argentina international has registered just 4 goals and 13 assists in 22 appearances in the French Ligue 1 this campaign.
Now, whilst these may seem like good numbers, it is far from what we expect from the little magician, especially in the French league.
Paris Saint-Germain lifted the Ligue 1 title last week, but according to Kylian Mbappe Messi didn't have too much influence on the team this season.
The legend did have a big impact in the Champions League, however, scoring five goals in seven appearances, but once again did not show enough desire to help PSG get past Real Madrid.
The 34-year-old is noticeably slowing down now as he enters the latter stages of his career, and it seems that EA has started to take note.
GOAT in decline
As a result of Messi's struggles on the field, EA has downgraded the Argentine's FIFA 22 card significantly.
Forst of all, Messi has been downgraded from a 93 OVR to a 92 OVR, but it doesn't just stop there.
The PSG winger's finishing has been SLASHED from 95 to 91, whilst his free-kick accuracy has also been downgraded.
Perhaps the best dribbler of all time is losing his ability according to EA, with his ball control downgraded from 96 to 94.
Messi's physical attributes have also taken a hit, with his sprint speed reduced from 80 to 78, stamina reduced from 72 to 71 and his attacking work rate going from medium to low.
TOTS promo coming soon!
It's official, FIFA 22 Ultimate Team's Team of the Season (TOTS) promo will begin on Friday, 29 April.
The TOTS campaign will kick off with the Community squad, as voted for by you, the fans.
The Community TOTS cards will be released into packs at approximately 1pm ET / 6pm BST on the day of release.
TOTS Leagues
All the major leagues will feature in this season's event.
The Premier League will be one of the most eagerly anticipated releases, although we may not see Cristiano Ronaldo feature this year...
Well, we probably will, but whether he deserves a spot on the team is a different kettle of fish!
Ligue 1 will also cause plenty of excitement with the likes of FUT favourites Kylian Mbappe and Renato Sanches likely to play a part.
