MAGNIFICENT SEVEN - Which La Liga star will claim the award

We give it a couple more weeks, so expect to see an SBC arrive around Wednesday, 13 October.

Karim Benzema

Six goals in four assists is not a bad tally in itself, but in just four games? Ridiculous form.

Karim Benzema has begun the La Liga season on fire and is our pick for La Liga’s September Player of the Month.

Memphis Depay

We are a bit perplexed by this nomination as Memphis Depay has scored just one goal in September.

His August form was excellent though, so maybe that has contributed to his inclusion.

Mikel Oyarzabal

Real Sociedad talisman Mikel Oyarzabal bagged three goals in September to take his tally to five for the season.

He wasn’t done there though, as he also provided an assist in his side’s 3-2 win over Granada.

Geronimo Rulli

Villareal has maintained their unbeaten start to the La Liga season, and goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli has played a huge part in their form.

Clean sheets against Mallorca and Real Madrid put Rulli in contention for an early special card in FIFA 22.

Radamel Falcao

Radamel Falcao is back with a bang in La Liga, scoring in each of his first three games for his new club Rayo Vallecano.

Given that he only started one of those games, could Falcao challenge for La Liga Golden Boot this season?

Rafa Mir

Sevilla striker Rafa Mir looks in ominous form, scoring in his side’s victories over Valencia and Espanyol.

Mir’s goal-scoring record over the past couple of seasons begs the question of why Wolves let him go.

Willian Jose

Real Betis have started strongly in La Liga, and Brazilian forward Willian Jose’s form in front of goal has propelled them into the top half of the table.

Jose scored four goals in four games in September, including a brace against Getafe.
