FIFA 22 FUT Versus Predictions: Gomez and Traore heat up the FIRE squad

The FUT Versus promo is coming to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team as we enter the festive period, and we can't wait to see what EA produces as it looks to contain elements of FIFA 21's Freeze event.

Last season we same some epic position changes and great value SBCs, but things look set to be a little different this year.

We have had some early leaks in advance of the release, so take a look at who we are expecting to see released later this week.

Release Date

The Team of the Group Stage (TOTGS) promo will end this week, with the FUT Versus event commencing on Friday, 10 December.

The promo will begin at 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, like all other FUT releases, replacing the TOTGS cards in packs immediately.

BRAND NEW - The 'Versus' concept is new to FIFA 22!

The 'Fire' XI will be available from Friday, 10 December until Monday, 13 December.

They will then be replaced in packs by the 'Ice' squad on Monday, 13 December until Friday, 17 December.

Ruben Loftus-LEAK

The full FUT Freeze Team 1 was leaked well in advance of release earlier in the week.

Twitter user @ImADuckQuackk caused a stir online after sharing the first 11 players much earlier than we have seen before.

Marcus Rashford will be an exciting proposition in any event as his pace and shooting should make him excellent in FUT 22.

Whichever Gomez is included we will be happy with, but the leaks suggest that it will be Liverpool's Joe Gomez this week.

Angel Correa

TOP DRAWER - Correa's new card looks set to be insane

We are not only seeing leaks about who is in the squad, but we are now seeing their card stats being revealed too.

Twitter users @Rebel1298 and @DonkTrading have both shared various players' stats already, and this Angel Correa card looks awesome.

Jules Kounde

KIMPEMBE 2.0 - We can't wait to see Kounde and Kimpembe in every team

Surely a fan favourite in this promo, French centre-back Jules Kounde is already one of the quickest options in the game.

Joe Gomez

BACK WITH A BANG - Gomez is yet to feature in any promo this season

Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez has struggled with injury and has barely featured for the Reds, but he is still awesome in FIFA 22!

This new card will take him to new heights, although it will likely cost a fortune.

Adama Traore

RETURN OF THE KING - Last year's Freeze item was class

It looks like it will be two years in a row for Adama Traore, although this year he is back on the wing.

98 Pace and 91 Dribbling will excite FUT fans everywhere... unless you are playing against him!

Roberto Pereyra

UNDERDOG - Pereyra's card could go under the radar this winter

Argentine links could become highly sought after when the Icon Swaps finally arrive this season, so this Roberto Pereyra card could come in handy.

It certainly looks more adept to playing in a CAM role, or possibly even further forward with 86 Shooting.

Alexis Claude-Maurice

BOX TO BOX - Watch out for Claude-Maurice dominating the middle

French connections are the way to go in FIFA 22, so this new Alexis Claude-Maurice card will go down a hit.

90 Pace and 80 Physical in centre midfield make the Nice star a top pick for us this week.

SBC & Objectives

The first set of players is not the only thing to be leaked this week, and first, we have Christian Pulisic's potential SBC card.

We aren't sure how these SBCs will play out, but it looks like you will be able to choose between weak foot or skill move upgrades.

Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico is also said to be part of the event, this time as an objective card.

This fits in perfectly for those building an Eredivisie team as left-back was one of the positions that need filling!
