The FUT Captains promotion was introduced to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team on Friday, with club captains, both past and present, handed boosted special cards.
Not only was there the arrival of the brand new FUT Captains, but there was also a host of boosted FUT Heroes cards, with upgrades handed to a selection of Heroes who captained their side.
Team 2 will replace Team 1 this Friday (April 15) and the leaks are already starting to arrive across the FIFA community, with Dimitri Payet expected to join James Ward-Prowse in this week's release.
Fine Form
Dimitri Payet has been in fine form for Marseille in recent weeks, bagging one of the goals of the season in the UEL victory over PAOK last Thursday.
It looks as though EA are set to reward that fine form with a FUT Captains card for the former West Ham favourite, with renowned FIFA source FutSheriff sharing his card, including his 'official stats', on Twitter.
Payet looks set to be one of the very best attacking midfielders in the game, with three of his base stats set to exceed a 90 OVR.
Only his 43-rated defending will stop the Frenchman from joining the elusive 'Gullit Gang'. Although given his advanced role, that shouldn't bother you too much.
He also provides a strong link to a certain Kylian Mbappe...
FUT Captains Team 2 release date
The FUT Captains Team 1 squad was released on Friday, 8 April.
We expect the current promo players to be available in packs for one week only, at which time they will be replaced by Team 2 cards.
This means that the FUT Captains Team 2 squad will be released on Friday, 15 April.
The new batch of cards will be released into packs at 1pm ET / 6pm BST, along with new objectives and SBC cards.
