Fenerbahce had been dominating Turkish football for years, but the title has slipped away over the past few seasons.
So, have you got what it takes to take Fenerbahce back to the very top of Turkish and European football in FIFA 22 Career Mode?
Team Rating
Fenerbahce has a 4-star rating in FIFA 22.
The breakdown of the ratings is as follows: ATT 76, MID 74, DEF 74.
Starting Lineup and Formation
The 4-3-3 (attacking variation) formation is most suitable for Fenerbahce to get the most out of their attackers whilst remaining defensively solid at the back.
The different variations of the 4-3-3 can be used depending on your own personal preference.
Starting with the three men who will hopefully be providing the goals for the team, we have Bright Osayi-Samuel and Diego Rossi on the wings, with Enner Valencia down the middle.
The midfield trio is made up of Irfan Can Kahveci and Luiz Gustavo, with the legendary playmaker, Mesut Ozil in his famous number 10 position.
In the full-back positions we've gone for Nazim Sangare and Attila Szalai, whilst Min Jae Kim partners Serdar Aziz in central defence.
Altay Bayindir is the man between the sticks.
Tactics and Instructions
Instruct the striker, Enner Valencia, to Stay Forward, Get In Behind and Stay Central to maximise his goal threat.
Make sure to instruct both full-backs to Overlap in order to support the wingers, whilst keeping them on Stay Back While Attacking too.
Allow Mesut Ozil to Free Roam, whilst keeping your two defensive midfielders on Cover Centre and Stay Back While Attacking, or you may leave yourself vulnerable to the counter attack.
Development Plans
When it comes to developing youngsters, there are several players to focus on within this Fenerbahce side.
Goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir (POT 84) has the potential to become a truly top-class shot-stopper, with just a few seasons of training.
Min Jae Kim (POT 81) and Serdar Aziz (POT 82) can be developed into a top-class centre-back pairing within a couple of years too.
Ferdi Kadioglu (POT 82) and Bright Osayi-Samuel (POT 79) can be the long-term wingers for the club, so make sure to convert these two youngsters into out-and-out wingers.
Transfer Market
Starting budget: £12 million
Who should go?
Fenerbahce seems to have several players who can be considered as 'dead wood'.
Marcel Tisserand (OVR 73), Max Meyer (OVR 73), Jose Sosa (OVR 75), Filip Novak (OVR 74) and Serdar Dursun (OVR 74) can all go to free up some funds for new signings.
We would also be tempted to let Luiz Gustavo (OVR 77) leave too as he is entering the twilight of his career and can be sold for over £5 million.
The youngster, Cagtay Kurukalip, can also be sold as his potential rating is not high enough in FIFA 22 to challenge for a first-team spot.
Loans
Berke Ozer (POT 80) is one of the most promising youngsters on the books who isn't near the first team at the moment, so a loan spell early on could do him the world of good.
Ferdi Kadioglu (POT 82), Mergim Berisha (POT 80), Muhammed Gumuskaya (POT 78) and Burak Kapacak (POT 79) are all promising young players capable of reaching the top level.
Fenerbahce already has several players out on loan too, with Ozan Tufan (POT 79) being the main one to keep an eye on.
Who to sign?
The main position which needs filling is in the Fenerbahce midfield, once Luiz Gustavo has been sold.
A box-to-box midfielder who can break up the play but also drive forward and support the attack is exactly what we are after.
AC Milan’s Franck Kessie (OVR 84) is our favourite in this position, and if you are prepared to wait a season you could snap him up on a free!
