EA released another squad update for FIFA 22 on Friday, 25 March, with some interesting changes to ratings, traits, and... height?
Height is not something we see fluctuate often, in fact ever, so we are not sure what has prompted the change!
EA has also blasted a couple of PSG's biggest stars after their shambolic exit from the Champions League, so at least they got that right.
Little old Messi
In one of the most bizarre updates we have seen this season, Lionel Messi has apparently shrunk by 1cm, according to EA.
His height has decreased in the latest update from 170cm to 169cm, although he still remains in the 5'7" category.
Along with his shrinking, Messi has also lost 5kg in the latest update too! Is the GOAT not being fed properly in Paris?
Now 67kg, these changes really should not be noticeable in-game as Messi's game does not revolve around his size.
Paris problems
Messi's dwindling size is not the only concern for PSG, as two of their star defenders have been lambasted by EA after their dismal showing in the Champions League.
There was a clear lack of leaders on the pitch as PSG capitulated once again to throw away a healthy advantage, with Karim Benzema capitalising to score a hat-trick and send Real Madrid through.
EA has recognised this by removing the Leadership trait from both Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe.
To be quite honest, we can't believe these players had that trait in the first place!
Selfish Lukaku
We are almost at the stage of feeling sorry for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, as he has once again been slammed by EA in the latest update.
We have already seen his work rates lowered this season, and now he has had his Team Player trait removed too!
Other than not being selected every week, we aren't sure what Lukaku has done wrong to deserve this one.
Lukaku is not the only Premier League star to lose the Team Player trait either, with Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris also suffering the same fate.
On the up
It's not all doom and gloom though as several players received notable upgrades in the recent update.
Barcelona pair Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Pedri both received +1 upgrades to their overall and their potential, leaving the teenage Spaniard with a 92 potential in FIFA 22.
Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini also received a healthy upgrade and now boasts an 83 OVR after boosts to his Pace, Passing, and Defensive attributes.
Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic has also reached 83 OVR, with healthy upgrades to his Dribbling stats, and a +1 on Finishing for good measure!
