The latest FIFA 22 ratings update just went live, and EA has made a very strange decision this week...
Manchester United and Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed an odd new trait in FIFA 22 and we can't quite get our heads around it.
CR7 finished?
Having scored just one goal in his past ten matches, Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering the worst spell in his career.
Manchester United's failure to score at Old Trafford against Watford highlighted just how much the 37-year-old has declined over the past couple of years.
One of the reasons behind his poor form could be the fact that he has started four games in the last 11 days, but Edinson Cavani’s fitness issues mean there aren’t many options for Ralf Rangnick upfront.
Cristiano Ronaldo came close to scoring twice in the first quarter of the game, hitting the post in the fourth minute before putting the ball in the back of the net 12 minutes later, but only for it to be ruled out for offside.
However, as the game progressed, Ronaldo got worse and ended the game as one of United’s worst players.
Ronaldo's body is finally deteriorating and his output in terms of goal contributions has slowed down massively as a result.
However, EA has strangely decided that now is the time to give CR7 a new player trait in FIFA 22...
Leadership levels
Amid these poor performances, EA has given Cristiano Ronaldo the 'Leadership' trait in FIFA 22.
Now, whilst we understand that a player doesn't have to be performing at their peak to be a leader on or off the pitch, Ronaldo's poor attitude has been there for all to see in recent weeks.
The Portuguese forward constantly throws his arms up in the air in disgust when one of his young teammates misplaces a pass or chooses not to pick out his run.
The United striker looked like a dejected figure with his hands on his hips and shaking his head after the 0-0 draw at home to Watford.
Ronaldo has also sprinted off the pitch straight after the full-time whistle at Old Trafford in fury multiple times this season, rather than applauding fans or consoling younger members of the group.
So, despite CR7 clearly being a leader throughout his career, both by setting an example and vocally on the pitch, now seems a very strange time for EA to add this trait to his repertoire in FIFA 22.
