FIFA 22 Everton: Classy winter transfers make The Toffees a great Career Mode choice

FIFA 22 Career Mode lets you build a dynasty with your favourite clubs, creating superpowers out of minnows and making the signings you wish had happened.

A horrific run of form for Everton saw Rafa Benitez given the boot, with Frank Lampard tasked with dragging them out of a relegation scrap.

We take a look at their winter transfer signings and how they have affected the team you will inherit when picking them on your Career Mode save.

Donny van de Beek (OVR 80)

Donny van de Beek looked like such a promising player until Manchester United signed him, where he has been sidelined constantly.

On loan at Everton and with a manager who likes to control possession, the Dutchman could become revitalised.

A proper box-to-box player, van de Beek is equally happy on the ball creating chances or sniffing out danger defensively.

You may want to extend his loan move into a permanent one, with a potential of 85 OVR.

Dele Alli (OVR 79)

Another man out of favour with his previous club, Everton managed to get Dele Alli in on a free transfer.

He is still a very talented player but needs to rediscover his best form.

Now with a potential of 81 OVR, he won't become world-class but can be a solid player in your midfield for a fair few years yet.

It could be an idea to play him as a second striker too, with his physicality and skill on the ball sure to trouble defenders.

Anwar El Ghazi (OVR 76)

Another loan signing, Anwar El Ghazi won't be getting into the starting XI but will offer a decent enough option on the bench or when rotating the team.

He doesn't have the raw pace to be a big threat on the wing, so playing him as a CAM could prove fruitful, with good ability on the ball and a long shot in his locker.

Vitaliy Mykolenko (OVR 76)

With the departure of Lucas Digne to Aston Villa, Everton was in dire need of a replacement.

Clearly not as good as the player he is replacing, Vitaliy Mykolenko is at least young and promising, with a potential rating of 83 OVR.

He isn't brilliant on the ball but can put in a decent cross if he gets in the right position.

A lot of work will be needed from him on the training ground.

Nathan Patterson (OVR 66)

Everton has been in need of a replacement for the ageing Seamus Coleman for a while and Nathan Patterson could be just that.

The Scot is already pacey and has good stats to improve upon in all the right areas.

Give it a season or two and he will be the first choice at right-back, although, if you're looking for proper quality there, his 80 OVR potential may not be enough.

New Lineup

Taking into account the new signings, this is how we would line up as Everton now.

CONTROL THE PLAY - The new signings will help you keep the ball well

Changing up from the default formation to a 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow, Alli and van de Beek slot straight into midfield, as we can to make use of their ability on the ball.

With Allan playing as a CDM it will allow the new boys to take chances getting forward knowing there is cover behind them.

Mykolenko also makes the starting XI, with no other left-back at the club.

El Ghazi makes it to the bench and can affect the game if he comes on, with a central position looking to suit him more.

As expected, Patterson is in the reserves for now.

Future Signings

There is a lot of work still needed to improve the first team, although the many young players in the ranks will help to do that as you progress through the seasons.

One place that needs investing in is the wings, as the side could really do with another pacey option or two.

At the moment the only option is Demarai Gray, so you are limited to formations if you want speed on the wings.

The midfield will need a classy replacement for van de Beek, or you can make his stay with the club permanent.

Full-backs will also be a key area, with quality needed on both sides while Mykolenko and Patterson develop.
