A.F.C Bournemouth has fought hard to return to the Premier League in recent seasons, but promotion seems to elude them every year.
So, have you got what it takes to take the Cherries back to the Premier League and challenge for Europe in FIFA 22 Career Mode?
Team Rating
Bournemouth has a 3.5-star rating in FIFA 22.
The breakdown of the ratings is as follows: ATT 72, MID 84, DEF 70.
Starting Lineup and Formation
The 4-3-3 (attacking variation) formation is most suitable for Bournemouth in order to get the most out of their attackers whilst remaining solid in defence.
The different 4-3-3 variations can be used depending on your own personal preference.
Starting with the main man up front, Jamal Lowe. Despite not being the highest-rated player, Lowe can do a good job of providing goals for the team.
The three creative players who will hopefully provide both goals and assists for the team are Junior Stanislas and David Brooks on the wings, with Ryan Christie in the number 10 role.
Giving the team defensively stability in midfield are Jefferson Lerma and Grzegorz Krychowiak.
In the full-back positions, we've gone for Adam Smith and Leif Davis, whilst the captain, Lloyd Kelly partners Chris Mepham in central defence.
Orjan Nyland is the man between the sticks.
Tactics and Instructions
With number nine, Jamal Lowe being the main target up top, we want to maximise his goal threat.
So, instruct the striker to Stay Forward and Stay Central to give him the best possible chance of a sight at goal.
Make sure to instruct both full-backs to Overlap AND Stay Back While Attacking. This will give you a good balance between supporting the attack and also remaining solid at the back.
You'll also want to keep the two more defensive midfielders on Cover Centre and Stay Back While Attacking, or you may leave yourself vulnerable to the counter attack.
Development Plans
When it comes to developing youngsters, there are a few players to focus on within this Bournemouth squad.
18-year-old winger, Morgan Rogers (POT 84) can develop into a Premier League standard winger with a few years of development, so make sure to focus your training on the youngster.
Lloyd Kelly (POT 80) is already a stonewall in the side but can progress into a top-class centre-half with time, so make sure to convert him into an out and out CB.
David Brooks (POT 82) and Lewis Cook (POT 80) can both develop into really good squad players for a Premier League side, which we hope to be very soon!
Transfer Market
Starting budget: £10 million
Who should go?
There are a fair few players in this Bournemouth squad who do not fit the meta and can be considered as 'dead wood'.
Gary Cahill (OVR 74), Ben Pearson (OVR 75), Philip Billing (OVR 75) and Steve Cook (OVR 72) can all be sold, which should free up around £20 million for signings!
We would also let David Brooks (OVR 76) leave too, as he does not quite fit the bill as the pacey, direct winger.
This sale will generate a further £10-£20 million!
The following youngsters can also be sold as their potential rating is not high enough in FIFA 22 to challenge for a first-team spot:
Nathan Moriah-Welsh, Ryan Glover
Loans
Morgan Rogers (POT 84) is one of the most promising youngsters on the books, so a loan spell early on could do him the world of good.
Having said this, you may want to keep the youngster as an option from the bench.
Leif Davis (POT 77) is a promising young player who is capable of becoming Premier League quality, so make sure to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer!
The Cherries already have a couple of players out on loan too, with Sam Sherring (POT 72) being the main one to keep an eye on.
Who to sign?
Once player sales are out of the way, you should have around £40 million to spend on new signings!
We suggest moving Jamal Lowe to the right-winger position, which means you'll need a new star signing to play in the striker position!
Cagliari’s Keita Balde (OVR 76) is our favourite option in this position and is available for just £9 million.
Transfer Options (ST)

The other main area where the team needs strengthening is in the heart of the defence.
Benfica star Lucas Verissimo (OVR 79) is our favourite to fill the centre-back role next to captain Lloyd Kelly, with the 25-year-old able to reach an 84 OVR in the future!
Transfer Options (CB)

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lucas Verissimo | 25 | Benfica | £20m | £13k | 79 | 84 |

Eric Bailly | 27 | Man Utd | £15m | £86k | 79 | 80 |
You may also consider buying a versatile full-back, as Bournemouth is quite weak in this area.
Ajax's Devyne Rensch (OVR 73) is our number one choice, with the 18-year-old able to develop into a true Premier League quality player.

Board Expectations
Bournemouth looks like an ideal job in FIFA 22, with the board expectations not being too demanding!
Domestic Success is the most important target for your popularity with the board being of high priority.
The Financial targets are the next highest on the list, but this is only a medium priority.
Brand Exposure and Youth Development have been assigned as a low priority, whilst Continental Success is labelled as very low, so you don't need to stress too much about these.
