Thinking about picking up FIFA 20 on Nintendo Switch? You better think again...
EA has revealed that this year's version of the game will look prettier, but won't feature any of the exciting new additions - including Volta Football.
FIFA 20 has a huge new street mode - but Switch players won't get a version of it
Speaking to Eurogamer, FIFA 20 executive producer Aaron McHardy said: “You’re gonna get a fresh new look in Switch, with kits and player lists and all of that. But you’re not going to be getting Volta or any of the big new features."
It's still not known whether gameplay changes, including tweaks to AI, will make it into the Switch version of FIFA 20.
The Switch version will be called a ‘Legacy Edition’, which runs on a custom version of the older IGNITE engine, which caters to last-gen hardware and the less-powerful Nintendo console.
The Switch version will once again be powered by the custom engine - based on Ignite
We'll likely hear more details around the Switch version, along with other FIFA 20 news, at this year’s Gamescom expo in Cologne.
The annual gaming event, taking place between August 21-24, is often the convention of choice for EA to showcase more about their flagship football title.
So, what can we expect to see?
Well, if last year is anything up go by, EA will be holding a hands-on preview with the game a couple of weeks before the expo.
Impressions and features will be embargoed until Gamescom, where the public will have their first opportunity to play the new FIFA.
