You won't grind out the points if you don't have a decent goalkeeper between the sticks.
Having those big names protecting your goal can be the difference between a win and a loss. Not only do they make more saves but their mere presence will make your opponent think twice before shooting from distance.
A lot of these stoppers have the potential to grow too. So make sure you check their potential before you snap them up on Career Mode.
Here is the list of the 10 best goalkeepers on FIFA 20.
Jan Oblak (OVR 91 – POT 93)
Age: 26
Club: Atletico Madrid
Country: Slovenia
Best stats: 92 GK Handling, 90 GK Positioning, 89 GK Reflexes
Career Mode value: £67 million (Release clause: £148.2 million)
Wage: £109,000 per week
FUT price: 45.5k PS4 / 47k Xbox One
The #1 number one on FIFA 20 is the ever-consistent Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak. At just 26-years-old, there is still time for the best to become even better and EA believe he will do so.
The Slovenian has been handed a 93 potential, and if you want to sign him on Career Mode, you’ll have to raise some serious funds. He is valued at a whopping £67 million, which severely limits the clubs who could sign him.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90 – POT 93)
Age: 27
Club: Barcelona
Country: Germany
Best stats: 90 GK Reflexes, 88 GK Diving, 88 GK Kicking
Career Mode value: £58 million (Release clause: £128.1 million)
Wage: £216,000 per week
FUT price: 45.5k PS4 / 40.75k Xbox One
Another La Liga stopper who is up the top of the rankings on FIFA 20 is the 6’2” German Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Ter Stegen is also expected to improve in the coming seasons and also has a 93 potential.
Kicking is what sets ter Stegen apart from many in this list, with his massive 88 overall in the kicking department crucial to set of those quick counter attacks. He comes in at around the 45k mark on FUT, which is about the standard price which you would expect for a top tier keeper on FIFA 20.
David de Gea (OVR 89 – POT 90)
Age: 28
Club: Manchester United
Country: Spain
Best stats: 92 GK Reflexes, 90 GK Diving, 85 GK Positioning
Career Mode value: £49 million (Release clause: £99.5 million)
Wage: £178,000 per week
FUT price: 44.5k PS4 / 47k Xbox One
The first of the Premier League cohort in the top 10 keeper list is Manchester United’s David de Gea. The Spaniard was the No 1 pick for the goalkeeper slot on FIFA 19, however a loss of form for both club and country has seen his rating dip.

EA predict he will rediscover his form, giving him a 90 rated potential. Like Ter Stegen, de Gea is a good keeper to use for a hybrid team, however in this case it would be a Premier League / Spanish hybrid.
Alisson (OVR 89 – POT 91)
Age: 26
Club: Liverpool
Country: Brazil
Best stats: 90 GK Positioning, 89 GK Reflexes, 85 GK Diving
Career Mode value: £50 million (Release clause: £100.5 million)
Wage: £134,000 per week
FUT price: 37k PS4 / 40k Xbox One
Joining De Gea as an 89 overall is Liverpool’s big Brazilian keeper Alisson. It was an incredible season for the 6’3” stopper, who won not one, not two, but three golden glove awards for club and country.
His positioning is his only stat in the 90’s at a flat 90 overall, closely followed by his 89 rated reflexes. Alisson is valued at £50 million on Career Mode and with a contract until 2024, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to talk the European Champions any further down than £90 million.
Ederson (OVR 88 – POT 91)
Age: 25
Club: Manchester City
Country: Brazil
Best stats: 93 GK Kicking, 88 GK Reflexes, 86 GK Diving
Career Mode value: £48 million (Release clause: £94.4 million)
Wage: £160,000 per week
FUT price: 23.75k PS4 / 28k Xbox One
Another Brazilian keeper who is plying his trade in the Premier League is Manchester City’s Ederson. Now whilst we may have sung the praises of Ter Stegen and his kicking ability, this man is on a whole different level.
A monster 93 kicking is by far and wide the best of any keeper on the game and let’s be honest, its bang on the money. Speaking of which, you can get Ederson for between 20-30k on FUT and in terms of an 88 rated keeper, that’s a very good price.
Manuel Neuer (OVR 88 – POT 88)
Age: 33
Club: Bayern Munich
Country: Germany
Best stats: 91 GK Kicking, 87 GK Reflexes, 87 GK Diving
Career Mode value: £28 million (Release clause: £47.5 million)
Wage: £134,000 per week
FUT price: 43k PS4 / 39k Xbox One
Another big German goalkeeper in the top 10, a player who was once considered the world's best, Manuel Neuer. Injuries have been the undoing of Neuer, resulting in limited playing time and therefore a rating decrease on FIFA 20.

£28 million for an 88 rated goalkeeper, albeit a 33-year-old, is still very reasonable, given that keepers can play on until their mid to late 30s in most circumstances.
Hugo Lloris (OVR 88 – POT 88)
Age: 32
Club: Tottenham Hotspur
Country: France
Best stats: 91 GK Reflexes, 89 GK Diving, 84 GK Positioning
Career Mode value: £31 million
Wage: £130,000 per week
FUT price: 22k PS4 / 23k Xbox One
Back to the Premier League now and it’s another top four goalkeeper in the form of French captain Hugo Lloris. Like Neuer, the guys at EA believe that Lloris has peaked, and at 32 years old, they are probably right.
His reflexes are still that of his younger self though, with a 91 overall in that department. For just over 20k on FUT, he is the cheapest of the top tier keepers in the league. However, if you have the money we would recommend an Ederson or Alisson instead.

Thibaut Courtois (OVR 88 – POT 89)
Age: 27
Club: Real Madrid
Country: Belgium
Best stats: 89 GK Handling, 87 GK Reflexes, 85 GK Positioning
Career Mode value: £42 million (Release clause: £91.8 million)
Wage: £204,000 per week
FUT price: 23.75k PS4 / 23.75k Xbox One
The next name to make the list is former Chelsea and current Real Madrid number one Thibaut Courtois. At 6’6”, there are few top keepers bigger than the Belgium. However, a dip in form for the Belgian which resulted in some time on the bench for Real, means his rating has dropped slightly on FIFA 20.
He doesn’t have any stats in the 90’s with his 89 handling his best, which you would expect given his dominance from crosses into the box. As is the case with many Real Madrid stars, Courtois’ wage will probably leave you unstuck. He currently earns over £200,000 per week and with plenty of higher rated players on less, there are certainly better options out there.
Samir Handanovic (OVR 88 – POT 88)
Age: 34
Club: Inter Milan
Country: Slovenia
Best stats: 89 GK Reflexes, 89 GK Positioning, 88 GK Diving
Career Mode value: £22 million (Release clause: £39.8 million)
Wage: £95,000 per week
FUT price: 22.5k PS4 / 27k Xbox One
At 34 years of age, it would be safe to call Samir Handanovic a veteran of the game. However, as the age-old adage goes, age is just a number and Handanovic is proving that statement to be true as he continues to put in top performances week after week.

With 89 positioning and 89 reflexes, there aren’t many shots that Handanovic can’t stop. Given his age, he may be a short-term solution between the sticks, however at less than £100,000 a week wages, he’s a relatively cheap one given his rating.
Keylor Navas (OVR 87 – POT 87)
Age: 32
Club: Paris Saint-Germain
Country: Costa Rica
Best stats: 90 GK Reflexes, 90 GK Diving, 82 GK Positioning
Career Mode value: £27 million (Release clause: £50.8 million)
Wage: £95,000 per week
FUT price: 15.75k PS4 / 17k Xbox One
The last name to make the 10 is the PSG number one Keylor Navas. He may be the lowest rating in the top 10 at an 87, however he does have two clear standout stats in the form of 90 reflexes and 90 diving.

You can pick Navas up for around 15k which makes him the cheapest on the list. His nationality makes it difficult to build him into any hybrids.
