Riyad Mahrez’s late penalty miss ensured the Premier League’s top-three head in to the international break with identical records after eight matches. Eden Hazard inspired Chelsea to another win as they kept pace with Manchester City and Liverpool whilst Spurs and Arsenal both won to continue their good form. Bournemouth continued their best start to a Premier League season with a 4-0 demolition of Watford and Manchester United ended a turbulent week with a last gasp win over struggling Newcastle.
La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid both dropped points with Sevilla taking advantage to go top after their victory over Celta Vigo. A Kylian Mbappe masterclass extended Paris’ winning run as they saw off Lyon comfortably and Cristiano Ronaldo scored again for Juventus who continued their perfect start. Bayern’s shock defeat at home to Borussia Monchengladbach extended their winless run to three matches and they trail Dortmund by four points.
FIFA 19 Ultimate Team selects a Team of the Week (TOTW) following the weekend's fixtures and rewards the best performing players with in-form cards possessing boosted ratings. The TOTW squad is available to challenge in single player mode and the players will be available on the FUT transfer market on Wednesday 10 October.
Fernando Pacheco (OVR 79 – IF 84)
Spanish keeper Fernando Pacheco made an impressive five saves against his former employers Real Madrid as Alaves snatched a 1-0 victory late on. Pacheco captained the side and helped them keep a clean sheet against the Spanish giants to round off a miserable week for Madrid.
Pacheco is available on the FUT transfer market for 700 coins on PS4 and 750 coins on Xbox One. His first in-form card of the season will see his OVR boosted from 79 to 84.
Matt Doherty (OVR 74 – IF 80)
Wolves extended their unbeaten run to six Premier League games and Matt Doherty has played a major part. Doherty had more touches than any other Wolves player as well as scoring the winning goal to add to the two assists he has already contributed this season.
Doherty’s excellent start to the season should be rewarded with an in-form card rated at 80 OVR, his basic silver 74 OVR card is worth 2,000 coins on PS4 and 7,500 coins on Xbox One.
Christopher Schindler (OVR 78 – IF 83)
Struggling Huddersfield owe much to the performance of Christopher Schindler for their point at Turf Moor. The German defender made three clearances and won eight aerial duels as well as scoring the equaliser which was just the fourth goal the Terriers have scored this season.
German centre back Schindler is available for 1,200 coins on PS4 and 1,000 coins on Xbox One. His goal away at Burnley saw Huddersfield earn just their third point of the season and should see him rewarded with an in-form card rated at 83.
Ezequiel Garay (OVR 82 – IF 85)
Argentine central defender Ezequiel Garay has only made three appearances for Valencia this season due to a knee injury, however they are unbeaten in each of those matches. Garay scored the opening goal and helped keep Barcelona at bay for much of the game as the Catalan club dropped points for the fourth game in a row.
Garay’s basic 82 card is available for just under 2,000 coins on both consoles although his 35 pace is sure to put many FUT players off. His in-form card should see a boost up to 85 OVR.
Kylian Mbappe (OVR 87 – IF 90)
A sensational second-half from Kylian Mbappe saw PSG annihilate rivals Lyon who find themselves 13 points adrift of Paris after just nine games. Teenage sensation Mbappe devastated Lyon in thirteen second half minutes with four goals taking his Ligue 1 goal tally to eight this season.
Wonderkid Mbappe is available on the FUT transfer market for a whopping 438,000 coins on PS4 and 415,000 on Xbox One. His in-form is likely to possess frightening shooting stats to accompany his already blistering pace and could be rated at 90 OVR.
Eric Dier (OVR 80 – IF 84)
Versatile midfielder Eric Dier contributed an all-round performance for Spurs as they struggled past a stubborn Cardiff side at Wembley. The central midfielder made three tackles, completed 90% of his passes and scored the crucial goal to propel Spurs to within two points off top spot.
England international Dier should be handed an in-form card with an 84 overall following his contribution to another Spurs win this weekend. His basic 80 OVR card is available for 2,000 coins on PS4 and 2,400 on Xbox One.
Bradley Dack (OVR 73 – IF 80)
Six goals in nine Championship matches represent an excellent return for attacking midfielder Bradley Dack. Dack scored the winner at the University of Bolton Stadium as Blackburn saw off Bolton and climbed to tenth place, just one point off the play-offs.
Dack continues to impress since his move from Gillingham and his match-winning display against Bolton should see him rewarded with an in-form card with an 80 OVR on FUT this week. His basic silver 73 card is worth 1,100 coins on PS4 and 1,400 coins on Xbox One.
James Forrest (OVR 76 – IF 82)
Celtic’s blistering first-half display decimated any hope St Johnstone had of picking up points this weekend as the Bhoys were 5-0 up at the interval, largely due to winger James Forrest’s four goal haul. The goals were his first of the season as he ran riot with Celtic eventually winning 6-0 in a one-sided contest.
Forrest’s stunning display should earn him an in-form card boasting 82 OVR and given his already impressive 93 pace he will be highly sought after. His basic 76 OVR card is available for 750 coins on PS4 and 850 coins on Xbox One.
Alexandre Lacazette (OVR 84 – IF 87)
Alexandre Lacazette’s well-taken double against Fulham takes his tally to four goals in five starts as Arsenal stretched their winning run to six Premier League games. The French forward earned himself the Man of the Match and will hope to continue his form with Arsenal just two points from the top.
Lacazette looks to be hitting his best form and his double against Fulham was brilliant and should see him earn him a place in this weeks FUT TOTW. His in-form card could be rated at 87 OVR, the Frenchman’s basic 84 OVR card is available for 19,000 coins on PS4 and 16,500 coins on Xbox One.
Gonzalo Higuain (OVR 88 - OTW 90)
Gonzalo Higuain has arrived at AC Milan with a point to prove after his least productive season in Italy to date last year. The former Juventus man is showing the form again of an £80 million striker, with the Argentine scoring six goals in his first seven games for the Rossoneri. The 30-year-old netted twice at the weekend against Chievo Verona in a 3-1 win that takes Milan to within three points of the top four but with a game in hand.
Higuain's 88 rating should increase to an in-form 90 this week, which is fantastic news for anyone who has packed his Ones to Watch card. His normal gold item costs 84,000 coins on PS4 and 60,000 on Xbox One, with his OTW setting you back 208,000 on PS4 and 198,000 on Xbox One.
Paco Alcacer (OVR 79 – IF 83)
Paco Alcacer has enjoyed an excellent start to life in Germany bagging himself six goals in just three substitute appearances totalling 81 minutes. His hat trick off the bench helped Dortmund to run out 4-3 winners in a thrilling match against Augsburg this weekend.
Alcacer is looking to regain the form that encouraged Barcelona to sign him in the first place and this weekend’s heroics suggest he is not far off his best. His basic 79 gold card is worth 1,900 coins on PS4 and 1,600 on Xbox One and his in-form card will be rated at 83.
