FIFA 19: October Premier League Player of the Month Prediction

The Premier League season is in full flow, meaning great news for FIFA Ultimate Team players. A few stars from the English top-flight have seen their performances rewarded with spots in the Team of the Week on FIFA 19, meaning some fantastic in-form cards have been available in recent weeks.

At the end of each month, a vote will go out to determine who has been the league’s Player of the Month, with the eventual winner not only claiming the prize but also a special SBC (squad building challenge) item on Ultimate Team. You can get hold of this boosted card by achieving the various squad builders on FIFA 19, with Eden Hazard’s 93 rating the only one seen so far this season.

RealSport runs through the contenders for October’s Premier League Player of the Month, and what their ratings could rise to if they claim the award.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (OVR 87 – POTM 89)

RealSport’s number one pick for the POTM award, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been on fire this month. The Arsenal striker has moved out to the left wing, with Unai Emery looking to accommodate both the former Borussia Dortmund man and Alexandre Lacazette (OVR 84), and it looks to have improved Aubameyang’s goal tally. The Gabonese forward scored five goals in October as well as grabbing one assist, with the Gunners winning two and drawing one of their three games.

Aubameyang’s rating should rise from 87 to at least 89 if he were to be named Player of the Month, and his positioning may move to the left wing. You can pick up his base card in Ultimate Team for 290,000 coins on PS4 and 260,000 on Xbox One in the transfer market.

Ross Barkley (OVR 79 – POTM 84)

Aubameyang’s form surprisingly didn’t see him make any of the Team of the Weeks during October, unlike Ross Barkley who earned a spot in TOTW 4 following his goal and assist in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Southampton. Recalled to the England squad, the attacking midfielder finished the month with three goals and two assists, looking back to his best.

Barkley’s 79 overall rating could now move up to a fantastic 84 POTM rating. His base card costs just 500 coins on PS4 and 600 on Xbox One, with an 82 in-form CM item setting you back 26,750 on PS4 and 30,500 on Xbox One.

Anthony Martial (OVR 83 – POTM 86)

Manchester United have at least been grinding out the results of late after a poor start to the season, with Anthony Martial a huge factor in their two victories as well as a 2-2 draw with Chelsea during October. The Frenchman scored an impressive four goals during the month, including a brace at Stamford Bridge, and with him in this kind of form, United can continue to climb the table.

Left winger Martial has an 83 rating on Ultimate Team, which is deserving of a rise to 86. His gold base card is valued at 31,750 coins on PS4 and 26,750 on Xbox One, with an 84 Champions League item worth 116,000 on PS4 and 118,000 on Xbox One. As for his 85 TOTW 6 left midfielder rating, you’ll need around 200,000 coins on both consoles.

Callum Wilson (OVR 78 – POTM 83)

Callum Wilson has gone under the radar this month, but you wonder what else the Bournemouth man has to do to get in the England squad. The Three Lions lack a conventional striker behind Harry Kane (OVR 89), and with Wilson bagging three goals and two assists during October, he is a man in form. His performances helped the Cherries pick up three wins and a draw during the month, meaning they lie in an incredible sixth place in the Premier League table.

Wilson’s 78 overall should increase to a much more respectable 83 if awarded the POTM prize, with his base card worth only 700 coins on both consoles in Ultimate Team.

Mohamed Salah (OVR 88 – POTM 90)

Mohamed Salah never seems far away from a Player of the Month prize, and although he does look an outside bet for the award, you can’t rule him out. The Liverpool right winger has proved his doubters wrong this month, scoring two goals as well as picking up two assists as Liverpool remain unbeaten in the league. A stunning display against Cardiff in which he had a hand in three of the Reds’ four goals shows he is still one of the finest players on the planet.

Egypt star Salah has an 88 base rating on Ultimate Team, and we expect this to rise to 90 if he picks up the prize. That normal gold card is priced at 286,000 coins on PS4 and 240,000 on Xbox One, with his 89 Champions League rating worth 620,000 on PS4 and 526,000 on Xbox One.
