The football just keeps coming, and the season is now firmly in full swing. Grabbing the headlines this week were Napoli, who are still unbeaten after 11 games in Serie A. In the Premier League, Manchester City can't stop scoring, with an entertaining 3-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion being one of the games of the weekend. Real Madrid dropped points yet again, falling 2-1 to Girona in La Liga, meaning the champions are already eight points behind Barcelona.Â
With so much quality on show, there is a lot of competition for places in FIFA 18’s Team of the Week. We predict the starting line-up, with the full squad being revealed at 6pm GMT on Wednesday.Â
Steve Mandanda (OVR 82 – 84)
Marseille travelled to Lille in Ligue 1 at the weekend, and the away side nicked all three points thanks to goalkeeper Steve Mandanda. The 32-year-old tried something new last season by moving to Crystal Palace of the Premier League, but after failing to settle in England he is now back in the south of France, and it's as if he's never been away. The French international made seven saves on course to the clean sheet, which lifted Les Phoceens to fourth in the table.
The ‘keeper should see his overall 82 increase by at least two this week, and his current price is just 800 coins on PS4 and 900 on XB1.
Oualid El Hajjam (OVR 69 – 73)
French minnows Amien picked up a big point away at Guingamp with right back Oualid El Hajjam grabbing the crucial goal. Despite going one nil up, Amiens had to fight incredibly hard, playing the last 35 minutes with 10 men.Â
His performance at both ends of the pitch could earn El Hajjam a TOTW appearance, with a rise of 69 to 73 on the cards. He is incredibly cheap on PS3 with a cost of 450 coins, but his display has caused his price to rise on XB1 to as much as 1,4000 coins.
Benjamin Pavard (OVR 72 – 74)
Right back Benjamin Pavard was deployed on the right side of a defensive three for Stuttgart at the weekend. The 21-year-old excelled in the position, bagging a goal and a clean sheet against Freiburg. With 13 points for 10 games, it’s been a steady start to life back in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart, with six points separating them from the drop zone.
Being a silver card, Pavard can only reach 74 this week, an increase of two from his 72 rating. The Frenchman will cost you around 1,2000 coins on both consoles.
Anaitz Arbilla (OVR 74 – 74)
Another right back, Eibar’s Anaitz Arbilla also slotted into a back three against Levante on Sunday. After falling 2-0 behind, Arbilla launched the fight-back with a brilliant free-kick, with his side going on to draw 2-2.Â
Arbilla already has a maxed out silver 74 rating, so that will not improve even if he makes TOTW7, but his six Ultimate Team stats will still get boosted. His goal at the weekend has seen his price rise to as much as 10,000 coins on PS4 and 5,200 on XB1.Â
Nabil Fekir (OVR 82 – 85)
With Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso leaving Lyon during the summer, the onus has very much fallen on attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir. The French international grabbed both goals in the 2-0 win over bottom of the table Metz, taking OL to third in Ligue 1.
With already one TOTW appearance under his belt this season, Fekir will increase to at least 85 this week. The 24-year-old is a bargain on FUT, costing just 950 coins on PS4 and 850 on XB1.Â
Fernandinho (OVR 82 – 84)
With so much attacking talent in their team, Manchester City need someone in midfield to offer defensive protection. Fernandinho does exactly this, but he isn’t shy of contributing in the final third either. Against West Brom, the defensive midfielder first set up Leroy Sane, and then struck from just outside the box to put City 2-1 up.
The 32-year-old is likely to receive an increase by two to 84 this week after that solid showing. Fernandinho will cost 2,800 coins on both consoles, with his high defensive work rate a massive selling point.Â
Lucas Torreira (OVR 75 – 80)
The goal of the weekend came from Sampdoria central midfielder Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan grabbed two in the 4-1 win over Sampdoria, with his first a swerving free-kick from around 35 yards sailing into the top right-hand corner.
The central midfielder is expected to hit at least 80 this week, which would be an increase of five from his current 75 rating. His low gold rating means he will only cost 450 coins on PS4 and 550 on XB1.
Michael Gregoritsch (OVR 73 – 74)
After four games without a win, it was a much-needed three points for Augsburg at the weekend. Michael Gregoritsch scored twice in the 3-0 triumph at Werder Bremen, he turned in a cross with his head and then reacting fastest to a loose ball from a corner.
The Pole will only increase by one if selected this week, due to his 73 silver rating. The attacking midfielder’s current price is 2,000 coins on PS4 and 2,800 on XB1.
Ihlas Bebou (OVR 70 – 74)
Hannover’s 4-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund meant that they are now fourth in the Bundesliga, with their opponents knocked off top spot by Bayern Munich. Hannover and Bayern have Ihlas Bebou to thank, with the right midfielder turned striker grabbing a brace.Â
The Togo international’s efforts should see him hit a high silver rating of 74 this week, and his efforts have already seen an increase on his price on Ultimate Team. On PS4 Bebou will cost 1,000 coins and 1,300 on XB1.Â
Ciro Immobile (OVR 82 – 85)
After 26 goals in 41 games last season, Lazio fans would have been hoping for more of the same from Ciro Immobile this campaign. The 27-year-old has shown that he was just getting started, with his goal against Benevento taking him to 18 goals in just 15 games this season. Not only that, the striker added three assists as Lazio ran away 5-1 winners.
Immobile’s last TOTW appearance took him to an 84 overall, so he should hit 85 this week. For his 82-rated card, you will only need 1,200 coins on PS4 and 950 on XB1.
Dries Mertens (OVR 86 – 88)
Seemingly a permanent fixture in the Team of the Week lineup over the last year, Dries Mertens was at it again this week. The Napoli star first scored two against Genoa last Wednesday, and then added another at the weekend over Sassuolo. Two more victories kept Napoli’s unbeaten start to the Serie A season going, with 10 wins and a draw.Â
The Belgian Mertens should now hit 88 this week, to save room for further appearances this season. The centre forward will cost a whopping 100,000 coins on PS4 and 88,000 on XB1.Â
