Team of the Week 29 (TOTW) predictions

The international break put a halt in proceedings, but now it's over, we have entered the final period of domestic football in Europe’s top divisions. Sadly, only in Italy will you find a fight for the title, with Juventus leading Napoli by four points, but the tussle for European places and the battle against relegation can be seen all over the continent.

Juventus did take a massive step towards the title in Serie A, with their victory over AC Milan coupled with Napoli’s draw as Sassuolo meaning there is now breathing space at the top of the table.

In the Premier League, the top four places may now be set after Tottenham came from behind to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 28 years.

Over in Spain, Barcelona left it late to keep their unbeaten campaign going, with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi grabbing goals in the dying moments to salvage a draw away to Sevilla.

Bayern Munich showed how far they are ahead of the rest of the field in the Bundesliga, smashing Borussia Dortmund 6-0, and with PSG and Monaco playing in the Coupe De La Ligue final, there was a chance for the other teams to showcase their talents in France. A 3-0 away win for St Etienne over Nantes was the pick of the bunch.

In all of the action from the weekend there were some marvellous individual performances, which could be worthy of a place in the FIFA 18 Team of the Week.

23 players will be selected on Wednesday, April 4 and they will receive an in form boost on FIFA Ultimate Team. The squad can be challenged for a coin boost, and you can attempt to get hold of the players by buying packs in the FUT store or purchasing them individually on the transfer market.

RealSport predicts who could make the TOTW squad.

Antonio Adan (OVR 81 – SIF 85)

With few goalkeepers sticking their hands up to be selected for the Team of the Week, Antonio Adan showcased his talents on Monday night. The Real Betis goalkeeper was the hero for his team, making a double save from a penalty against Getafe. His work between the sticks allowed Los Verdiblancos to go on and claim a 1-0 victory.

Adan’s performance should take his 81 overall rating to an 85 in form on Ultimate Team. His normal card is priced just over 1,000 coins on both PS4 and Xbox One, and an 84 in form will cost 29,000 on PS4 and 32,000 on Xbox One.

Willi Orban (OVR 79 – IF 83)

RB Leipzig built on their victory over Bayern Munich before the international break with another three points against Hannover. It was a nervy performance however, going 2-0 up and then just managing to hold on 3-2 at the HDI Arena. Centre back Willi Orban scored the second for Leipzig, nodding in Naby Keita’s corner.

Orban’s goal could take his 79 overall to an 83 this week. His normal gold card costs 1,000 coins on PS4 and 1,600 on Xbox One.

Andrea Masiello (OVR 77 – IF 84)

Atalanta kept their hunt for European football going, with central defender Andrea Masiello grabbing a goal in the 2-0 win over Udinese. La Dea are now within three points of the Europa League places, setting up a great finish for the season with nine games to play.

Masiello’s performance at both ends of the pitch is likely to improve his 77 overall to as high as 84 on Ultimate Team. His normal item is valued at 550 coins on PS4 and 650 on Xbox One.

Cristian Ansaldi (OVR 79 – IF 82)

Staying in Italy, it was easy work for Torino as they blasted through Cagliari, claiming a 4-0 away win. Cristian Ansaldi notched the third goal as Torino ripped their opponents apart in the final half hour as they look to finish strong in what has largely been a disappointing season.

Ansaldi's goal could earn him a spot in the Team of the Week and lift his 79 overall rating to 82. His position would also switch from left back to wing back, and you can get his normal card for 1,100 coins on PS4 and 1,400 on Xbox One.

Remy Cabella (OVR 75 – IF 84)

Saint Etienne have been in fine form of late, going nine games unbeaten, and their 3-0 win over Nantes keeps them well in the running for European football. Remy Cabella was the star, and the attacking midfielder scored twice and set up a goal, and displays like that could see him make a move to a bigger club this summer.

That man of the match performance from Cabella should see his 75 overall rating travel to an 84 in form on Ultimate Team. The Frenchman will cost 450 coins on PS4 and 850 on Xbox One.

Dele Alli (OVR 84 – SIF 87)

Tottenham picked up a seismic victory in the Premier League, not only defeating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 28 years but also increasing the gap between themselves and the Blues to eight points. With Harry Kane only fit enough to make the bench Dele Alli stepped up, scoring twice and putting one Spurs foot in the Champions League for next season.

Alli’s match-winning showing gives him a fantastic chance of making the Team of the Week, and we expect his 84 rating to improve to 87 on Wednesday. The attacking midfielder’s normal card costs 11,000 coins on both consoles and an 86 in form is priced at 270,000 on PS4 and 500,000 on Xbox One.

Luis Alberto (OVR 80 – SIF 85)

Luis Alberto has had a fantastic season with Lazio, and the Spaniard scored twice and grabbed an assist in the 6-1 demolition of Benevento this past week. The versatile forward or midfielder now has nine goals and 14 assists for the season, putting Lazio in with a great chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Alberto’s 80 overall should become an 85 in form this week, and we also expect his centre forward position to change to central midfield. The former Liverpool player currently costs around 1,000 coins on both consoles and his 83 in form is valued at 31,000 on PS4 and 50,000 on Xbox One.

Ivan Perisic (OVR 86 – SIF 88)

Inter Milan are the side most in jeopardy of dropping out of the top four in Italy, but they didn’t blink this weekend. Inter defeated Hellas Verona 3-0, as Ivan Perisic grabbed headlines setting up two goals and grabbing one for himself.

Another superb performance from the Croatian international Perisic should see him pick up a second TOTW appearance for the season. That means his 86 overall will improve to at least 88, and you can get his normal card for 27,000 coins on PS4 and 26,000 on Xbox One. An 85 attacking midfield Ultimate Scream (which can be boosted to 88) costs around 41,000 on both consoles and an 87 in form will set you back 85,000 on PS4 and 70,000 on Xbox One.

Giovanni Sio (OVR 75 – IF 82)

expand image

Giovanni Sio was the star for Montpellier as they defeated Caen 3-1. The striker scored twice and assisted the other goal as La Paillade look to hold on to fifth place and qualify for Europe. Montpellier may be 17 points off the Champions League places but there are four teams snapping at their heels in Ligue 1 for Europa League qualification.

The Ivorian Sio should see his 75 overall rating improve to 82 this week, and you can get his normal gold card for just 750 coins on both consoles.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (OVR 88 – HERO 90)

expand image

Zlatan Ibrahimovic knows how to make an entrance. The striker recently switched Manchester United for LA Galaxy, and he stole the show on his debut in the MLS. The Swedish forward came off the bench to score twice as the Galaxy came from 3-0 down to defeat new rivals Los Angeles FC 4-3. Ibrahimovic bagged one sensational volley from almost 40 yards before nodding in Ashley Cole’s cross to steal the victory in the dying moments.

Ibrahimovic’s match-winning debut makes him a shoe-in for the Team of the Week. We expect the 36-year-old to receive a Hero card with his rating increasing from 88 to 90. His normal card costs 62,000 coins on PS4 and 75,000 on Xbox One.
