FC 24 has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Career Mode fans attempting to take their chosen team to the biggest stages in football, with nine title updates, and several glitches, the beloved game mode has seen a lot of changes in this year's edition of the game.
That being said, we are starting to see the usual influx of people moving from Ultimate Team to Career Mode, and we believe this is the perfect time to share some secrets with fans, so they can gain an advantage in Career Mode.
Together we will go through the best position change players, who will increase in OVR if you swap them from their regular position to a role more suited to their abilities, so let's check out these hidden gems in FC 24 Career Mode.
Position training in FC 24 Career Mode
Training in FC 24 Career Mode is not only good to help your players learn new roles and new skill moves or train their weak foot, but it is also effective to learn new positions on the field where they will be able to play as a primary position.
We will go through five players who receive a huge boost to their upgrade once their position is changed in FC 24 Career Mode.
Raphael Guerreiro
Position change: LB -> CAM
Rating change: 82 -> 87
That is right, Guerreiro increases +5 in his overall from an 82-rated LB to an 87-rated CAM. This is a must-do in Career Mode especially if you are looking for a cheap high-rated attacking midfielder. Simply purchase Guerreiro for around £23 million, then change his position and you will be looking at an 87-rated player with a value of £66.5 million, which is an increase of 189% to his price tag.
Alphonso Davies
Position change: LB -> LM
Rating change: 83 -> 85
Another full-back who is capable of playing elsewhere is Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, meaning both of their key left-backs are actually suited in different positions. The Canadian increases by +2 OVR ratings when put into training to be a left-midfielder, and his attacking prowess is much more useful in that kind of position. Davies would be perfectly suited in a 3-5-2 position, with the left, and right midfielders, playing both a winger and wingback role.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Position change: RB -> CM
Rating change: 86 -> 89
Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is arguably one of the best passers/crossers of the ball in world football, and EA has recognised that by giving him 89 short passing, and 92 long passing. By changing the Englishman to a central midfielder, which takes four weeks, Alexander-Arnold increases by +3 OVRs becoming an 89-rated player with a £100 million price tag! This position change is a must-do if you are using the Liverpool man in your Career Mode.
Joao Palhinha
Position change: CDM -> CB
Rating change: 84 -> 86
Fulham CDM Joao Palhinha is one of many defensive midfielders in FC 24, who bode well in the CB position, and we have picked him due to his OVR, and the club he plays for. Bayern has already tried to pry Palhinha away from Fulham, and if you're managing a big club in your Career Mode that requires a CB, then Palhinha is your man. A healthy +2 OVR upgrade and two weeks of training is all the Portuguese international needs to reach 86 OVR.
Japhet Tanganga
Position change: RB -> CB
Rating change: 72 -> 76
On loan from Tottenham to Championship club Millwall, Japhet Tanganga is the perfect road to glory CB, who you will be able to pick up on the cheap, before converting him to his natural position. Whether you intend to start a Millwall Career Mode save, or wait a year for Tanganga to return to Spurs, we highly recommend this pick-up. Tanganga increases a huge +4 OVRs once put into training from a right-back to a centre-back, and the process only takes four weeks.
