It looks like EA Sports is set to revive its beloved boxing series Fight Night, much to the excitement of fans around the world!
Find out all the latest on the popular boxing title below.
Fight Night set to return!
The Electronic Arts classic boxing game was last released in 2011, with Fight Night Champion, but it looks like a revival is in the works!
According to sources near EA Sports brand, the new Fight Night game, which is currently codenamed ‘Moneyball’, has entered early development.
However, the new game's release is still likely to be a few years from now, with EA currently prioritising the next EA Sports UFC game, which is set to be released in 2022.
An e-mail seen by EA Canada told staff that its focus would be solely on EA Sports UFC 5 for the foreseeable future.
“We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality,”
EA will know just how much fans of the boxing world want the popular title to return, with some BIG names crying out for a revival...
Eddie Hearn pitches idea
Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was the first to spark excitement amongst Fight Night fans when he revealed that he had pitched a new Fight Night Champions idea to EA Sports.
Speaking back in March 2020, Hearn said:
"I've got a few ideas in the fire on Fight Night Champions. I've got this little Fight Night idea which I've pitched to EA Sports. It's not just a virtual game. It's much more complicated than that."
"I had a call with EA Sports the other day. I keep telling them - every time I mention Fight Night on social media it goes mad!"
"The return of Fight Night would be huge."
But since discussing the title on Instagram live over a year ago, little more had been said about the title... until now.
Tyson Fury calls for Fight Night revival
Eddie Hearn isn't the only big name in boxing who wants the title to return!
Tyson Fury put a post out on social media a few months ago with a mock-up cover of a proposed Fight Night release, calling for EA to bring the title back.
Now whilst the cover may look like a legitimate release at first glance, it is actually a fan-made design from @MerisDesigns.
