The loss of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in a car accident has shocked the sports world. In what is one of the darkest days in football history, players, clubs, and fans paid tribute to Jota and Andre, and so did EA Sports FC.
Diogo Jota had a very special relationship with EA FC and its players. If he wasn't on the real pitch, he was in the virtual one, playing fans the day before his matches, which made the EA FC community feel even closer to him.
He proved that you can be elite on the real and virtual pitch. As the EA FC statement points out, "Diogo was not only an exceptional footballer, but also a true friend and talented member of the FC family."
This also showcases just how much Diogo Jota loved football. He lived and breathed the game in all forms, being as passionate about football as he was for EA FC, and equally elite in both.
He played against thousands of fans, interacted with many of them, and beat most of them as well. Then, on weekends, he would lace his boots, step onto the pitch, and put on memorable performances, the type of performances that fans will never forget.
Diogo Jota loved the EA FC community, and the EA FC community loved him back and will never stop doing so. He more than deserves to be honored by EA FC, and not only in FC 25 but on every title moving forward.
With how much Jota loved EA FC and the importance he had for the EA FC community, EA needs to commemorate him as the special player and, above all, the special person Diogo Jota was.
On behalf of everyone here at RealSport, I offer our deepest condolences to Diogo Jota and André Silva's family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
