FC 24 is here now in full force! We have loads of content for you, taking a look at the TOTW 3 for Ultimate Team, as well as the best Evolutions, and the Road to the Knockout promo.
In this article, you will find out which CAMs rank highest in Career Mode, both the top players and top talents! You'll need to get familiarised with the training drills and hire the right coaching staff in order to develop these players into key assets in your attack.
What makes a good Central Attacking Midfielder?
A good attacking midfielder needs to be slightly more technical than your average attacker as they will be in tight spaces for the majority of a match.
Key attributes you need to look for in an attacking midfielder, specifically in the playmaker role, include good passing to distribute the ball in the final third, vision to help them identify the best choices in the heat of the moment, shooting to become an offensive threat to the opposition, set-pieces to help make your team a threat in this regard, and agility to keep with a fast-paced environment.
Attacking Midfielders can play numerous roles, however, the most common being a playmaker role as you look to create chances for your striker or wingers.
Best CAMs in FC 24
This article will focus on both top-tier CAMs and wonderkids. As a note, there are no Ultimate Team shenanigans here, as this is simply focusing on ratings during EA FC 24 Career Mode and nothing else. For the UT fans, check out the best PlayStyles to look out for with CAMs!
We're focusing on the top five CAMs before moving on to some honourable mentions. These will cost less than the top options and could potentially be the saving grace of your career as a manager in a mid-table team or during a complete rebuild!
For those looking for Kevin De Bruyne, Paulo Dybala, and Bernardo Silva, they are not listed as CAMs this year. With that out of the way, here's the list of the best CAMs.
Bruno Fernandes (88 OVR)
The new captain of Manchester United tops the list. With his powerful shots and incredibly precise passing, Fernandes is a key player in the attacking midfield position. His ability to score from a distance and provide accurate set pieces adds an extra dimension to his team's offense.
Fernandes' best attribute is his 90 in passing. This can be utilised to ping the ball over the top to your pacey attackers or start a counterattack from inside your own half.
Martin Odegaard (87 OVR)
Arsenal's Captain Fantastic, Odegaard's technical finesse and creative vision make him a valuable asset in orchestrating attacks from the midfield. His passing range and ability to find pockets of space can unlock opposing defences, whilst his ability to arrive late in the box is a useful asset when attacking from out wide.
Like Bruno Fernandes, Odegaard's best attribute is his passing. Although only 88, don't sleep on his capacity to pick out a teammate from anywhere on the pitch.
Jamal Musiala (86 OVR)
Jamal Musiala fits on both this list and the wonderkids list. Possessing an impressive rating for his age, Musiala is a promising prospect with a combination of technical finesse and agility. His abilities suggest significant potential for growth and a bright future ahead.
An incredible dribbling attribute of 91 shows where Musiala's strengths lie. Picking the ball up in the middle of the pitch and driving towards goal is his specialty. Don't forget he's only 20 years old too, so there's plenty more to come from the Bayern youngster.
Florian Wirtz (85 OVR)
Another exciting German youngster. Wirtz's key asset is also dribbling. Although not as adept as Musiala, Wirtz has a higher physicality. This should mean he can brush off approaching defenders with ease compared to his compatriot.
Wirtz does struggle for pace, so should be deployed as more of a central playmaker rather than a mobile creator. Play to his strengths though and he'll provide the chances for your team.
Julian Brandt (84 OVR)
The final member of this list is another German product. Brandt has come into his own at Dortmund, forming a crucial part of the team's attack. His ability to pick out a pass puts him above both Musiala and Wirtz, and his physicality helps him stand out against other attacking midfielders.
Brandt is also a strong dribbler and shooter, so expect to be able to drive up the pitch before slotting it into the bottom corner. Just beware he's not the quickest, so he will be jostling with defenders on the way.
Honourable mentions
Five more impressive CAMs in EA Sports FC 24 include the following:
Player | Age | Overall | Club |
---|---|---|---|
James Maddison | 26 | 84 | Tottenham Hotspur |
Thomas Muller | 34 | 84 | Bayern Munich |
Nabil Fekir | 30 | 83 | Real Betis |
Jonas Hofmann | 30 | 83 | Bayer Leverkusen |
Dani Olmo | 25 | 83 | RB Leipzig |
Best Young CAMs for Career Mode
Moving forward, our attention shifts to the top emerging CAMs within EA FC 24. This selection comprises individuals aged 21 years or below who boast the most elevated initial overall ratings as the game kicks off.
Much like before, we'll cover the best five picks. We'll also include an additional selection of honourable mentions for good measure. These players show immense potential and are poised for substantial growth in the forthcoming years.
Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig - 79 OVR / 89 POT)
With a decent rating, Simons is making his presence felt in the young attacking midfielders category. His technical prowess and creative instincts position him as a player to watch as he continues to develop. There's a reason PSG keeps bringing him back.
Arda Guler (Real Madrid - 77 OVR / 88 POT)
A fantastic scoring record for Fenerbahce earned Guler a big move to Real Madrid this summer. With exciting passing and dribbling stats, Guler looks more like a creator than a finisher, but that doesn't mean he can't find the back of the net when needed.
Harvey Elliott (Liverpool - 77 OVR / 85 POT)
Injury affected Elliott last season, but that hasn't halted his development. An exciting young English talent, Elliott's strengths are his dribbling and pace. If you can develop his passing, he can become a real asset in your attack.
Tommaso Baldanzi (Empoli - 77 OVR / POT 87)
Arguably the hidden gem of the list. Baldanzi is another with pace and dribbling in his locker. He definitely needs to work on his passing and shooting, but if you can get him on the training pitch he'll be a star in no time.
