E3 2021 is well underway, and Day 3 of the event is over. While certainly not as big in terms of blockbuster announcements as either Day or 2, there will still some key takeaways for you to be aware of.
While there were a total of ten streams spread throughout the day, Day 3 served as a reminder that E3 is an industry show, and is just as much for developers and publishers, as it is for fans.
Capcom was the star of the show today, and the company gave us some exciting updates.
Resident Evil
We knew what to expect from Capcom, as they announced the titles they would be focusing on ahead of time. We got updates and announcements for Resident Evil Village, Monster Hunter Stories 2, and The Great Ace Attorney, and some other tidbits along the way.
First up, we heard from the developers of Resident Evil Village, who were celebrating the 25 anniversary of the franchise.
We learned that Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer game Resident Evil Village owners will have access to for free, will launch next month.
In addition, due to popular demand, it was announced that work has begun on DLC for Resident Evil Village. While this can't be officially confirmed, we would be willing to go out on a limb and suggest this will be Lady Dimitrescu related.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
Next, we got a brand new trailer for the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which outlines the game's story and shows off some gameplay.
The game looks like a fantastic continuation of the franchise, with a marked focus on narrative, something that isn't traditionally at the fore of mainline Monster Hunter games.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 will launch on July 9, and the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise is coming to the game on July 15. Speaking of which...
Monster Hunter Rise
It was revealed that Monster Hunter Rise, the incredibly popular new game exclusive to Nintendo Switch, will be getting a swath of new content.
More paid DLC is in the works, but new events, quests, and monsters will be coming to the title in the form of free updates over the coming months.
There will also be some exciting crossovers, we are told, although no specifics were given.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
Next, it was time for the comedic legal thriller, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, to take the stage, and a new trailer was shown
A spinoff of the mainline Ace Attorney games, anyone familiar with the franchise will know what to expect. The game looks great and is releasing quite soon.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is launching on July 27 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
Halo Infinite Multiplayer Overview
Outside of Capcom's reveals, the biggest news from Day 3 was the release of a multiplayer overview for the upcoming Halo Infinite.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer suite will be free to play, launching alongside the paid single-player campaign the game will ship with.
We got to see some awesome multiplayer gameplay and hear the developers thoughts on how the suite is shaping up.
Those are the biggest stories from E3 2021 Day 3! We still have the showcases of both Nintendo and Bandai Namco to look forward to tomorrow, so check back for an update on Day 4.
