Dying Light 2 is the follow-up to the enormously well-liked zombie game Dying Light.
Although it was originally played to release in 2020, the game was delayed.
Dying Light 2 hasn't been without controversy and the games development and team seem to have suffered in kind. TechLand dropped its lead writer, Chris Avellone, after allegations of sexual assault (as reported by Gamasutra).
This has shaped the release somewhat. Here's what we know so far.
Latest - Dying Light 2 Delayed to 2022
In some unfortunate but not entirely unsurprising news, Dying Light 2 has been delayed to February 4th, 2022. Having a handful of delays already plus over a year of at-home development work, it can be hard to estimate how far along the game really is.
This means you will have to wait a few months longer to play the game for yourself.
When Is Dying Light 2's Release Date?
Techland has announced that Dying Light 2 will launch on February 4th, 2022
Judging by the footage shown during the live stream, this looks like an achievable release date, and while a further delay is still possible, it seems reasonably safe to say that we can begin to get hyped!
Preorders are now live, which is another positive sign for the game hitting its release date.
Preorder Bonuses and Editions
Preordering any version of Dying Light 2 will earn you the Reload Pack, which comes with a weapon, paraglider skin and outfit to use in-game.
There is a Standard Edition of the game, which goes for $60 USD.
The Deluxe Edition will set you back $80, and includes the Legendary Skin pack, exclusive weapon charms, wallpapers, digital comic, digital soundtrack and digital artwork.
You will also get access to the first piece post-launch story DLC. Physical preorders will also receive a steelbook case (although physical preorders aren't live yet).
Finally, the Ultimate Edition will run you $100, give you access to everything the Deluxe Edition does, and in addition, access to the second piece of post-launch story DLC.
Plus, you will get access to additional crafting items, more wallpapers, and a 2h night XP boost.
With Dying Light 2 set for a launch on February 4th, you have plenty of time to decide which edition best suits your needs.
