In what has become an understandably normal occurrence, another major video game has moved from 2021 into the next year. This time it's Dying Light 2 which was initially set for release in December.
Here's everything we know about the delay so far...
Dying Light 2 Delayed
Dying Light 2 is now aiming for a release date of 4 February 2022. It comes a no surprise that the game is moving as the developer's Techland clearly feel like they need more time and this is absolutely the right course of action.
We recently wrote about game delays and how they should be treated with praise rather than condemnation. Any studio with self-worth will want to take all the time they need to release a project they have faith in rather than 'on time to make some quick cash.
Admittedly, the move may also have been a little strategic. Dying Light 2 was scheduled to release the day before Halo: Infinite which may have seen a reduced interest in the game on Xbox. However, its new date sees it going toe to toe with a lot of possible GOTY contenders for 2022.
Latest Dying Light 2 Trailer
The last Dying Light 2 trailer came to us courtesy of Gamescom 2021. The game has quite the showing there and it was announced as one of their Dying 2 Know live streams
These streams go in-depth on certain aspects of the game and include discussions with the development team. Some fans of the game had noted that in some of the gameplay footage there appeared to be some issues with graphical quality and overall performance.
There's no solid proof that the version and parts of the game that were shown had any major issues. We can't wait to see the final product and applaud Techland for taking the difficult decision to delay.
