The FIFA 21 Winter Upgrades are coming soon, but will POTM cards receive upgrades too?
Here is what we know so far.
Will FIFA 21 POTM cards be upgraded?
EA have kept their lips sealed as far as the winter upgrades are concerned, but if previous years are anything to go by, then we have good news.
If any of the upgraded players have been awarded a POTM card throughout the FIFA year to date, then they should be eligible for an upgrade.
But not necessarily.
If the upgraded card's overall or any of it's base stats overlap their POTM card, then the special card should also upgrade, IF EA follows suit from previous years.
POTM Virgil Van Dijk was upgraded as part of the rating updates in FIFA 18, whilst Jamie Vardy received a POTM upgrade in FIFA 20.
Who could be upgraded?
So if EA does opt for the same procedures as we've seen in recent years, then we could see some POTM upgrades too.
But which cards are in line for an upgrade?
La Liga's November POTM Joao Felix is one who is all but guaranteed a rating upgrade, having been a key member of the Atletico Madrid side who currently leads the way in the Spanish top flight.
Whether his upgrades will take him beyond the 87-rated POTM card remains to be seen though.
Likewise the BPL POTM for January - Ilkay Gundogan - should also receive an upgrade, one which is all but guaranteed to see his 86-rated POTM card upgraded.
And if EA wants a big name to front their Winter Refresh promo, then a Bruno Fernandes upgrade would be incredible.
