As the world gears up for the launch of Xbox Series X|Sand PS5 this week, it looks as if Discord is cracking under the pressure.
For the second time since Saturday, the Discord servers have gone down.
Update from Discord
It appears Discord are making progress on the latest issue.
"We are seeing some percentage of messages fail to send as we work out the last of the issues here, but the majority of users are back online and using Discord again.
"We will continue to work through the last issues here to get service back to 100%."
9 November outage
As shown by this screengrab from Down Detector, at around 10am ET / 2pm GMT there were around 15,000 reports of Discord problems.
93% of this has been server connection, with the Discord Twitter responding to users stating that "the team is working on fixing this now".
On discordstatus.com it reads:
"It looks like there was some kind of power incident at Google, or other major issue. We saw dozens of our servers reboot at the exact same time, so we are currently doing a full system recovery for Discord."
7 November Issues
It looked to be a similar problem on Saturday with 94% of users experiencing server connection issues.
The response was as follows:
"The root cause upstream has been fixed and the secondary incident on our end (our Envoy cluster got into a permanently "circuit broken" state and needed a reboot) has been mitigated, so we are declaring this incident to be resolved.
"We will continue to work to understand the degenerate behaviour in our load balancing layer and implement a more permanent fix so that this doesn't recur."
It remains to be seen if it is the exact same problem this time around.
