Impulse Gear's futuristic shooter initially released in 2017, but will be available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers in March 2020. Will you be able to play Farpoint without VR, though?
It was one of PSVR's first full-scale exclusive titles when it released, being the perfect demo for Sony's Aim Controller.
Can You Play Farpoint Without VR?
While all PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download the game, it's important to know if you're actually going to be able to play it.
Unfortunately, Farpoint is a PlayStation VR only title, and therefore cannot be played without Sony's headset.
There is no way to play with just a TV and a controller, so you'll have to get your hands on a PSVR headset to make the most of March's PS Plus free games offering.
If you have a headset, you can play it with just a DualShock 4 controller, the Aim Controller, or two Move Controllers; you'll just need the headset alongside any of them.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't download it, or add it to your library, when you get the chance though.
If you add Farpoint to your account, you can come back to it in the future should you pick up a PSVR headset.

Also, since Sony has revealed that they're working on a second generation PlayStation VR headset, you'll likely be able to play Farpoint on it in the future.
It'll be good to have the PS Plus free game in your library should you ever get the chance to play it.
When the March PS Plus Games Release
Farpoint and the other free PS Plus games for March will be available from Tuesday, 2 March. They'll be available to download or add to your library until 5 April.
If anything changes in regards to whether you can play Farpoint without VR, we'll be sure to update you.
